
Accordingly, Danang University was selected by the Central Government as one of four key universities as a model for the Vietnamese higher education system.
Therefore, the city leaders requested the University of Danang to develop an action plan towards the goal of being in the Top 150 of Asia by 2030, with at least one field reaching the Top 100 of the world; at the same time, propose projects to invest in science and technology infrastructure and train graduate students in strategic technology sectors.
The Department of Science and Technology is assigned to preside over the development of a project to develop an international-class innovation and startup center by 2025.
Along with that, the Management Board of Da Nang High-Tech Park and Industrial Parks focuses on strategic technology groups, forming a regional-scale semiconductor innovation cluster; filling phase 1 of the High-Tech Park (about 50 projects); forming a technology cluster specializing in marine economy and smart tourism; successfully incubating at least 200 creative startup projects, affirming its position as the Innovation Center of the Central region.
The leaders of Da Nang City also assigned departments and branches to synchronously implement key tasks in 2025, such as attracting 15 high-tech investment projects; opening an application R&D Center to serve businesses; implementing a 6-month co-op (study - work) program to create high-quality human resources; building a Central Startup Hub startup space and piloting a sandbox mechanism for the marine economy and environment sectors.
In the field of smart cities, Da Nang aims to be in the Top 50 of the global rankings by 2030, developing in a people-centered direction.
The Department of Science and Technology is assigned to build the overall smart urban architecture; the Department of Construction is in charge of applying national criteria, assessment frameworks and standards; the Department of Foreign Affairs promotes international cooperation.
In particular, Da Nang City assigned the Department of Science and Technology to advise on the Plan to apply artificial intelligence in key sectors such as healthcare, education, construction, transportation, environment and public administration, to be completed by mid-December 2025.
