Da Nang invests thousands of billions to develop waterway tourism

(NLDO) - Ha Long Sun Company Limited was approved by Da Nang City as the investor to develop the waterway tourism system.

On October 14, the People's Committee of Da Nang City announced that the city has issued a decision approving Ha Long Sun Company Limited (under Sun Group Corporation) as the investor of the project "Investment in construction and business of inland waterway tourism in Da Nang" with a total capital of more than 9,881 billion VND .

The project is divided into 2 phases , including 3 component projects , aiming to form a system of wharves, modern means and tourism space , creating a unique product for Da Nang river tourism.

Cruises operate on the Han River, taking guests to see the sights of Da Nang at night.

Phase 1 (2025–2030) includes a component project , investing in the construction of 8 inland waterway terminals from Thuan Phuoc Bridge to Tien Son Bridge , along with auxiliary items such as access roads, parking lots, waiting rooms, ticket offices, and landscape parks . This phase also includes purchasing tourist boats , performing lighting effects, and organizing art shows along the Han River.

Phase 2 (2028–2031) is divided into two component projects including: construction of 8 inland waterway wharves along Vinh Dien River and Co Co River , along with technical infrastructure and boats for tourism; investment in 4 inland waterway wharves along Cam Le River , along with landscape parks and corresponding auxiliary items.

According to the decision, the project's operating period is 50 years , calculated from the date the investor is allocated land or leased land to implement phase 1 .

Previously, in July 2025, the People's Committee of Da Nang City approved the above investment policy. Mr. Ho Ky Minh, Permanent Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City, said that this is the city's strategic direction to synchronize tourism infrastructure and public waterway transport.

With this project, the city hopes to form a modern port network, not only serving tourism but also reducing pressure on road traffic.
