This is the ranking of Volleybox - a prestigious international volleyball site, similar to Transfermarkt of football.
Ahead of the 2025 World Championship, Volleybox surprised Vietnamese fans by placing four stars under coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet in the "top 100 best female volleyball players of 2025".
They are Tran Thi Thanh Thuy (ranked 14th), Nguyen Khanh Dang (ranked 27th), Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen (ranked 85th) and Vi Thi Nhu Quynh (ranked 86th).
Volleybox has a unique scoring formula, based on team and individual performance in every tournament, with separate weights for each tournament.
Thanks to continuous victories over the past year, Vietnamese volleyball stars are therefore also highly appreciated.
Thanh Thuy and Khanh Dang also reaped big points from the achievements of Binh Dien Long An Club at AVC Champions League. Khanh Dang was even awarded the title of "best libero" of this tournament.
But losing all three matches at the World Championship has caused the Vietnamese women's volleyball team to fall quite low in the rankings.
In Thailand, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his team only made an impression in the first match, losing 1-3 to Poland. After that, they lost two consecutive matches against Germany and Kenya.
Due to not scoring any points, Thanh Thuy was surpassed by a series of superstars from Italy, Brazil, and Türkiye, thereby falling to 22nd place with 326.66 points.
Khanh Dang also dropped from 27th to 39th with 234.06 points; while Bich Tuyen and Nhu Quynh both fell out of the top 100 best athletes in 2025.
