From the spirit of the 1943 Cultural Outline to the desire for creativity
Speaking at the conference, People's Artist Viet Anh, representative of the Ho Chi Minh City theater community, emphasized: "From the spirit of the 1943 Vietnamese Culture Outline - the Party's first cultural platform, Ho Chi Minh City's literature and arts have continuously risen, affirming their pioneering role on the cultural front. Half a century after the country's reunification, that creative flow not only reflects the strong vitality of a young, dynamic city but also nurtures the aspiration to reach out, contributing to making Ho Chi Minh City the center of the country's creative and cultural industry."
Sharing the same sentiment, People's Artist Le Thuy shared: "After the country's reunification, Ho Chi Minh City entered a period of construction in the fiery spirit of a city that had just gone through war. Generations of artists, from those who returned from the war zone to the young generation who had just grown up, immersed themselves in the creative flow. I remember clearly the songs and operas... that were born during the heroic period of the city. Those were works praising the spirit of resilience, the fire that warmed a difficult time that our generation wanted to pass on to today's young generation."
People's Artist Thoại Miêu added: "Through the image of revolutionary art, many new spiritual values are awakened with role models rich in ideals, courage and dedication. We artists are always proud to be "soldiers on the cultural front", contributing to cultivating the personality and ideals of today's young generation. Ho Chi Minh City also has the Mai Vang Award of the Newspaper of Laborers in the past 30 years, which has been an artistic space, a proud cultural meeting place to encourage artists to be creative."

According to statistics, by 2022, the city will have nearly 6,000 artists and writers who are members of 9 professional associations, actively working in the fields of composition, performance, theory and criticism. With 7 training schools, 1 research institute and 1 specialized center, Ho Chi Minh City is the largest center for training cultural and artistic human resources in the South.
Artists and writers accompany sustainable cultural industry
Entering the digital age, young artists bring many new signals. Singer Dan Truong said: "For us, Ho Chi Minh City is the cradle of creativity. From music , cinema to performing arts, the city always opens up new spaces, encouraging young artists to experiment, cooperate, and work professionally. It is this dynamism that helps Vietnamese art have more opportunities to reach out to the world. I hope that the Mai Vang Award of Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper at the age of 31 will contribute to promoting the development of the city's cultural industry."
Artist Lam Vy Da, representing the young generation of actors, added: "I clearly feel the open spirit of the city. The culture here is not closed, but always seeks to connect with the audience and with other cultures. That makes us, young artists, always feel responsible for continuing the tradition, both creating and preserving."

The collectives honored at the Conference, including the Lao Dong Newspaper, have made positive and important contributions to the development of Ho Chi Minh City's culture and arts 50 years after the country's reunification.
Artist Thanh Hang, who won the Mai Vang Award two years ago, expressed her emotions: "Over the past 50 years, Ho Chi Minh City's literature and art have been a testament to the resilient and humane vitality of the people of Saigon - Ho Chi Minh City. Each work is a piece of memory, a word of gratitude, a dream about a livable city, where art not only nourishes the soul but also enriches society."
Opening the flow of creativity - culture is an endogenous strength
According to Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Yen Chi (University of Theatre and Cinema, Ho Chi Minh City), the implementation of Resolution 23 of the Politburo has helped cultural and artistic activities in Ho Chi Minh City move towards a new look, becoming more dynamic and effective. Through this conference, comprehensive development orientations for culture and arts were established, contributing to promoting traditional values, encouraging the creation of new values, and promoting international exchange and integration.
"All developments in culture and arts will be the foundation for joining the UNESCO Creative Cities Network. Major projects such as the Ho Chi Minh City Symphony - Music - Ballet Theatre, Phu Tho Multi-purpose Circus and Performance Hall, Thu Thiem Children's Palace, Digital General Science Library... are taking shape, demonstrating the city's clear vision" - Associate Professor Dr. Tran Yen Chi said.
Looking back 50 years, Ho Chi Minh City is not only the economic center, but also the cultural heart of the whole country - the place where new artistic values originate, experiment and spread. From pioneering artists such as People's Artist Le Thuy, People's Artist Thoai Mieu, People's Artist Viet Anh... to young faces such as Lam Vy Da, Dan Truong, all are united in a flow of creativity, dedication and belief in the strength of Vietnamese culture.
