According to Rolling Stone, Taylor Swift has sent $100,000 to the GoFundMe campaign set up by Lilah's mother, Katelynn Smoot, to cover medical expenses during her daughter's treatment.

Just days after a video of little Lilah lying in a hospital bed watching Taylor Swift's The Fate of Ophelia music video was shared on TikTok, the famous singer sent a donation along with a message of encouragement: "Sending the biggest hug to my little friend, Lilah! Love, Taylor."

The singer's actions quickly inspired many of Taylor's fans. Fans of the famous singer simultaneously sent 13 USD, the singer's favorite number, to support the girl with brain cancer.

Within hours of the news going viral, the campaign had surpassed its initial goal of $100,000. As of October 18, the total amount of donations was over $167,000 with over 2,000 supporters.

According to information from the GoFundMe fundraising page, little Lilah is being treated for a rare stage 4 brain cancer, a disease that is believed to have appeared in only about 58 cases in the US last year.

Despite undergoing surgery to remove the brain tumor, Lilah still had to undergo a lengthy treatment regimen including chemotherapy, proton radiation therapy and a stem cell transplant.

Sharing with the media, Lilah's mother said that since she was a child, her daughter has loved and admired Taylor. The singer's songs are psychological therapy, helping Lilah overcome her pain.

“The baby’s name was originally planned to be Willow, inspired by my favorite song. I listened to Taylor Swift throughout my pregnancy and I can say that I gave birth to a little Taylor fan. Taylor Swift’s music always made her happy, even during the most tiring days of treatment,” the baby’s mother emotionally said.

After receiving the donation from Taylor Swift, Lilah's mother posted a video recording the moment when she and her daughter danced to the singer's music with the message: "Thank you so much. I'm so shocked. This means a lot to us. Now we can fully focus on our daughter. Taylor has given us a wonderful gift."

This isn't the first time Taylor Swift has made donations without public notice. In 2024, while busy with her global tour, she quietly donated $5 million to disaster relief and several times donated to children's hospitals.
