The Party and Government take the lead for a prosperous country and happy people.

The first Government Party Congress, term 2025 - 2030, took place at a time when the country was firmly entering a new era.

Based on the great achievements of the past term, the Party Committee of the Government in the next term is determined to continue to take the lead in thoroughly implementing the Party's Resolutions, effectively implementing the tasks of socio -economic development, national defense, security, and foreign affairs, contributing to the successful implementation of the two 100-year goals of building a prosperous country and happy people.

On August 19, 2025, 250 large projects and works with a total investment of up to 1,280 trillion VND were simultaneously started across the country.

These projects have strategic significance in "turning the situation around and changing the state" of national strategic infrastructure, helping to complete the infrastructure breakthrough set forth in the Resolution of the 13th Party Congress. Accordingly, by the end of this year, the whole country will have completed 3,245 km of expressways and 1,711 km of coastal roads; and many other key projects.

Under the leadership of the Government Party Committee, during the 2020 - 2025 term with countless difficulties, from the COVID-19 pandemic to global geopolitical risks, the Government, headed by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, has directed the synchronous and effective implementation of many solutions, creating great achievements in socio-economic development.

GDP increased from 346 billion USD in 2020 to 510 billion USD this year, ranking 32nd in the world. GDP per capita increased by nearly 1.5 times, reaching 5,000 USD, entering the group of upper middle-income countries. Public debt decreased from 44.3% to about 35%. Inflation was controlled at 4%/year.

In particular, the past term was a term of deep humanity, clearly demonstrating the responsibility of the Party and Government towards the people, especially the vulnerable groups, when reducing the poverty rate to only 1.3%. The goal of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses was basically completed more than 5 years ahead of schedule. Vietnam's happiness index increased dramatically by 37 places, from 83rd in 2020 to 46th in 2025.

"Vietnam has become an emerging economic power. Its progress in human development has made it a model of vision, putting people at the center, and in the future, determined reforms will guide the country to green, sustainable and inclusive growth," said Ms. Ramla Khalidi (UNDP Resident Representative in Vietnam).

Building on the achievements, the Party Committee of the Government in the new term will focus on implementing the breakthrough Resolutions of the Politburo, which set out specific tasks and goals for effective and substantive implementation.

Deputy Secretary of the Government Party Committee, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh said: "The document was prepared very carefully, closely following the Central Committee's instructions, thoroughly grasping the spirit of innovation in the draft document of the 14th National Congress and is highly actionable, with clear development orientation, clear work to be done, with higher goals and targets, requiring more efforts."

The Government also firmly holds the view that socio-economic development and environmental protection are central, Party building is key, cultural development is the foundation, ensuring national defense and security and promoting foreign affairs are essential and regular; building the country in the spirit of "self-reliance, self-confidence, self-reliance, self-strengthening, and national pride".

"The first is to lead and direct the building of a clean and strong Government Party Committee, improve the leadership capacity and fighting strength of the Party organization and Party members. The second role is to lead the successful implementation of the political tasks identified by the 13th Party Congress. The Government must maintain its role as a creative Government, close to the people, maintain its role as the highest state administrative agency, decentralize, delegate power, reduce administrative procedures, create favorable conditions for the people, lead the implementation of its role as an executive agency, always innovate thinking and actions must be drastic, determination must be higher, efforts must be greater to achieve the goal," Secretary of the Government Party Committee, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized.

With the motto: "The Party has directed, the Government has agreed, the National Assembly accompanies, the people support, the Fatherland expects, then only discuss action, not retreat", the Party Committee of the Government in the next term is determined to become a pioneering, exemplary force, leading in implementing the Resolution of the 14th National Party Congress, contributing to building a rich, prosperous country, and a prosperous, happy life for the people.
