The Party Delegation of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations worked with the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee on people's foreign affairs.

On the afternoon of June 22, the Party Delegation of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations worked with the Standing Committee of the Ha Nam Provincial Party Committee on people-to-people diplomacy. Chairing the conference were comrades: Nguyen Phuong Nga, Secretary of the Party Delegation, President of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations; Dinh Thi Lua, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee. Attending the conference were comrades: Le Thi Thanh Ha, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department; Tran Xuan Duong, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; representatives of the leadership of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Committee, the Provincial Party Committee Office, the Provincial People's Committee Office, and relevant departments and branches.

According to the report at the conference: In recent times, the Steering Committee for External Information Work of Ha Nam province has regularly and promptly oriented propaganda, directed press and media agencies to effectively carry out information and propaganda activities on the Party's policies and guidelines, the State's laws, and outstanding political and social events of the country and the province; carried out propaganda work on external information along with internal information activities. Thereby, fundamentally changing the awareness of all levels, sectors and enterprises about the position, requirements and tasks of external information, promoting the potential and advantages of domestic and foreign investment and business to promote trade and attract investment in many forms. From the beginning of 2023 to now, the province has attracted 7 FDI projects with a total registered capital of 97.7 million USD. Up to now, there are 363 FDI projects in the province with a total registered capital of more than 5.2 billion USD.

Ha Nam province has promoted information and propaganda work on foreign affairs documents on mass media to raise awareness among all classes of people about the necessity and importance of cultural diplomacy in the period of international integration; compiled and published publications on the history, cultural traditions, tourism, scenic spots, homeland and people of Ha Nam, strengthened information and promoted Ha Nam tourism on electronic information pages, websites, social networks... In the first 6 months of 2023, the total number of tourists to the province is estimated at more than 3.4 million (reaching more than 180% compared to the same period in 2022); of which international visitors are 78,000.

Currently, there are 13 foreign non-governmental organizations allowed to operate in Ha Nam province. The organizations in the process of implementing projects are all in accordance with the set plan, complying with the provisions of Vietnamese law. In 2022, the province received 8 foreign non-governmental aid packages with an amount of more than 140,000 USD; in the first 5 months of 2023, it received and approved 2 projects with an amount of 83,560 USD...

Based on the local reality, the Standing Committee of the Ha Nam Provincial Party Committee proposed that the Party Delegation of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations continue to pay attention to and support the province in attracting and mobilizing foreign non-governmental aid; introduce partners to coordinate with the province in performing socio-economic development tasks; support the connection and establishment of friendly cooperative relations with foreign localities with similar conditions; strengthen the organization of training courses, professional development on people's foreign affairs, mobilization and management of aid capital; pay attention to and create favorable conditions to support the province in connecting with foreign non-governmental organizations, development funds and foreign diplomatic representative agencies in Vietnam with large, long-term budgets, operating in the fields that the province is prioritizing to survey and implement projects...

Concluding the working session, Comrade Nguyen Phuong Nga, Secretary of the Party Committee, President of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations congratulated and acknowledged the achievements in various fields, especially in people's foreign affairs of the province. He affirmed that through the report and opinions at the working session, the working delegation saw the efforts and attention of the province for people's foreign affairs. The President of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations also made suggestions and directions for Ha Nam province in carrying out people's foreign affairs in the coming time. The Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations will actively support the province in carrying out foreign affairs activities, especially in coordinating foreign affairs information and promoting local foreign affairs activities.

On behalf of the provincial leaders, Comrade Dinh Thi Lua, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, thanked the working delegation for their attention to Ha Nam province.
