According to VietNamNet reporters on the morning of October 6, along more than 3km of coastline in the Hai Tien tourist area (Hoang Tien commune), layers of plastic waste, bottles, foam, and rotten firewood covered the sand. Among them were hundreds of fallen tree trunks, water fern, and fishing nets washed ashore by the waves.

According to local residents, due to the impact of storm No. 10 and heavy rain, rising waves swept away a huge amount of garbage from offshore and river mouths. “After every storm, the sea is full of garbage. This year there is more garbage than usual, looking at the devastated beach is heartbreaking,” said a resident.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Ha - Chairman of the People's Committee of Hoang Tien Commune - said that after storm No. 10, many roads and residential areas in the commune need to be cleaned up, especially the coastal road from Phuc Ngu sluice to Giang Son village. The authorities are focusing on mobilizing forces to clear sand and rocks spilled onto the road, ensuring traffic and safety for the people.

“The amount of garbage in the beach area is currently very large, and the locality has not yet had a specific solution. We are proposing and asking for opinions from the Department of Agriculture and Environment to have a solution as soon as possible,” said Ms. Ha.

According to Ms. Ha, the work of cleaning and collecting garbage at Hai Tien beach is being urgently implemented by the local government and people, in order to restore the clean and beautiful tourist landscape after the storm.
