On peak days, VEC welcomed nearly 1.3 million visitors to the exhibition - an unprecedented number in the history of political and cultural events in Vietnam.

The event spanned an area of nearly 260,000 m² - equivalent to dozens of stadiums. 34 provinces and cities, 28 ministries and branches and more than 230 booths of more than 100 typical state-owned and private enterprises participated. 180 industries gathered, sketching out the picture of the country's economic , cultural, social, defense and foreign affairs development in the renovation period.

For the public attending the exhibition, one of the most profound impressions is the different “language” of expression. Dispelling the stereotype that historical exhibitions are often dry, the event becomes a “super stage” of technology - from 3D mapping, virtual reality, holograms to AI, blending with traditional display art.

A series of exciting experiences at the exhibition attracted a large number of visitors of all ages.

In addition, on average, there are more than 100 supporting events every day at the exhibition, including art performances, seminars, talks, animations, interactive experiences... Visitors feel like they are lost in a "miniature event city" with many layers of emotions.

During 19 days, the exhibition welcomed more than 10 million visitors. On the peak day alone, nearly 1.3 million people came to VEC - an unprecedented number in the history of political and cultural events in Vietnam.

During the last days of August and the beginning of September, a continuous stream of cars headed to Co Loa, bringing groups of visitors from the North, Central and South to the exhibition to visit and experience. From the elderly to children, from veterans to students, people from all over the country, overseas Vietnamese… were all excited, proud and more confident in the future of the country. Many businesses also found in the exhibition inspiration, opportunities for cooperation and direction for a new stage of development.

According to historian Duong Trung Quoc, the phenomenon of millions of people flocking to VEC reflects the need to blend into the national flow, where each individual and business sees themselves in a picture of 100 million Vietnamese hearts beating together with pride.

“Besides pride in traditional values, everyone wants to witness the country’s development achievements. They also see the appearance of their homeland and even the contributions of themselves and their businesses in that general picture,” historian Duong Trung Quoc explained.

The high-ranking delegation of Laos and Cambodia directly interacted with the humanoid robot "Make in Vietnam" of Vingroup Corporation.

The event also had the honor of welcoming many high-ranking international delegations, such as the General Secretary and President of Laos; President of the Cambodian People's Party; Minister of the Cuban Revolutionary Armed Forces; and many military delegations from Russia, Laos, Cambodia, etc.

As a person who has participated in many large international exhibitions, Mr. Le Quoc Vinh, Chairman of Lebros Company, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Exhibition and Event Organization Association, could not hide his pride when talking about the largest exhibition in history. The event was even more special when it took place at the "wonder" Vietnam Exhibition Center (VEC), one of the top 10 in the world.

“The National Achievements Exhibition and the Vietnam Exhibition Center in particular are a great opportunity for the world to see a dynamic, creative and potential Vietnam,” Mr. Vinh shared.

Behind the record numbers

Behind the records of the National Achievement Exhibition is a huge operating machine: nearly 400 construction units, more than 31,300 supporting participants including: 900 security personnel, 28,000 officers and operating staff, 2,000 volunteers.

The service infrastructure is prepared to the standard of a "big campaign" with: 8 parking lots (5 additional lots for peak times), 20 free bus routes, 2 internal tram routes with more than 50 modern vehicles. In just 3 weeks, the "mountainous" workload was smoothly coordinated by Vingroup and VEC with the organizing committee and participating units, marking the miracle of building VEC in the top 10 of the world in just 10 months.

Infrastructure at VEC is operated at maximum capacity, ensuring the experience for millions of tourists.

According to Associate Professor Dr. Bui Hoai Son, full-time member of the National Assembly's Committee on Culture and Society, the success of the National Achievement Exhibition has affirmed that VEC is not only an iconic infrastructure project, but also a place that fully converges the elements to become a destination for national and international events and exhibitions. These are large scale, modern infrastructure, flexible operation, and the capacity to organize major events with millions of attendees.

“VEC is a testament to the remarkable development of Vietnam’s cultural infrastructure, meeting the highest international standards in terms of space, engineering and technology. The fact that the event “80 Years of Independence - Freedom - Happiness Journey” chose VEC as the venue right after the inauguration of the project has affirmed the strategic vision: to turn this place into a new symbol of modern, creative, integrated but rich in identity Vietnam”, the expert emphasized.

The exhibition of national achievements ended with great success in the joy of millions of people.

According to Associate Professor Dr. Bui Hoai Son, the success of the exhibition also marked an effective public-private partnership model in the cultural field. In particular, Vingroup pioneered a new direction for the private sector in accompanying the State in organizing large-scale cultural and political events.

“The harmonious combination of resources and dynamism of the private sector with the direction and supervision of the State not only creates outstanding success for this exhibition, but also suggests an effective cooperation model for many large projects and activities in the future,” he said.

The exhibition “80 Years of Independence - Freedom - Happiness Journey” ended with record numbers and unforgettable impressions, opening a new chapter for Vietnam in the field of event organization. With VEC, Vietnam now has a “big stage” to show off to the world its culture, achievements, aspirations, as well as attract and converge the quintessential values of the era to Vietnam. This will be the driving force to promote the leap forward development of the cultural industry in the era of national development.
