On the afternoon of October 19, at Phu Quoc International Airport (Phu Quoc special zone, An Giang province), an Airbus 321-VJ 3522 aircraft of Vietjet Air landed at Phu Quoc International Airport, marking the reopening of the flight route from Russia to Phu Quoc Island, serving Russian tourists during the peak winter tourist season of 2025-2026.
This is the first direct flight from Vladivostok city (Russian Federation) carrying 220 tourists landing at Phu Quoc international airport after about 7 hours of flight - the first Russian tourists in the charter tour package including airfare, accommodation, sightseeing and local services directly operated by Anex Vietnam Trade and Tourism Company Limited (Anex Vietnam).
The Phu Quoc Special Zone authorities organized a solemn and thoughtful welcome for the Russian international tourist group, creating sympathy and impression, affirming the image of the Pearl Island as a safe, hospitable and attractive destination in the eyes of international tourists.

After this flight, Phu Quoc Special Zone will continue to welcome charter flights departing from 14 cities in Russia and countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) operated by Azur Air and Vietjet Air, with a frequency of 75-80 flights/month, transporting more than 10,000 international tourists per month.
Previously, on the morning of October 12, flight number BRU 8197 of Belarusian Airlines carrying more than 280 tourists also landed at Phu Quoc International Airport.
This is the first direct flight connecting the capital Minsk (Belarus) with the pearl island of Phu Quoc (Vietnam). The Minsk-Phu Quoc route will be operated periodically every 10 days, with about 300 passengers per flight.
The reopening of direct flights from the Russian Federation as well as several other countries to Phu Quoc is an important turning point in the international tourism development strategy of the Pearl Island.
This is both an opportunity to welcome a wave of international tourists and an opportunity to promote the image of Phu Quoc to airlines and global travel companies. Thereby, strengthening international cooperation, implementing package tours, promoting the image of Phu Quoc as an ideal "winter" destination during the peak winter tourist season of 2025-2026.
In particular, the reopening of international flights is of profound significance as Phu Quoc will host the Asia- Pacific Economic Cooperation Forum in 2027 (APEC 2027).
