(VTC News) - Striker Nguyen Dinh Bac won the title of Best Player of the 2025 Southeast Asian U23 tournament.

On the evening of July 29 in Jakarta (Indonesia), U23 Vietnam was crowned champion of the 2025 Southeast Asian U23 Championship. In addition to the collective award, U23 Vietnam had 1 representative win an individual title. Striker Nguyen Dinh Bac was honored as the best player of the tournament.

Dinh Bac started 3 matches in the championship journey of U23 Vietnam. The player of Hanoi Police club contributed 2 goals. He opened the score in the 2-1 win over U23 Cambodia in the group stage and equalized to start the comeback of U23 Vietnam against U23 Philippines in the semi-finals.

In the U23 Vietnam squad participating in the U23 Southeast Asia tournament 2025, Nguyen Dinh Bac is one of the key players. This player has experience playing in V.League for 2 seasons, has participated in many international tournaments in the past 2 years and has been called up to the Vietnam national team.

Despite having just recovered from an injury at the end of the 2024-2025 season, Dinh Bac quickly regained his form. The player wearing the number 7 shirt became an irreplaceable factor for coach Kim Sang-sik in the U23 Vietnam squad.

" My feeling right now is that there is nothing happier. Winning the championship in Indonesia is the most wonderful thing. Having to compete in front of 35,000 spectators, U23 Vietnam did it. We are proud of this achievement ," Nguyen Dinh Bac said in an interview after the final match.

At the press conference after the award ceremony, the striker born in 2004 added: " Before the tournament, my team and I were very determined, set the goal of winning the championship and we did it. We will strive to get the best results, bringing the best achievements for Vietnamese football in the upcoming U23 Asian qualifiers and SEA Games."

The remaining two individual titles of the tournament belonged to U23 Indonesia - the runner-up team. Jens Raven received the top scorer award with 7 goals. However, 6 of the goals were scored by this striker against U23 Brunei - the weakest team of the tournament. He only scored 1 more goal in the next 4 matches and failed to score against U23 Vietnam. The title of best goalkeeper was awarded to Muhammad Ardiansyah.
