The delegation of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha presented 500 gifts to people affected by floods in Nghe An.

On October 20, the working delegation of the Central Charity and Social Affairs Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha coordinated with the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of Nghe An province to organize a program to visit and give gifts to support people to overcome the damage caused by the recent storm No. 10.

The program was led by Venerable Thich Tam Chinh - Deputy Head of the Central Charity and Social Affairs Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha. The gift-giving journey was organized at 4 pagodas in the province, including: Long Dong Pagoda, Phuc Tai Pagoda (Lam Thanh Commune), Long Hoa Pagoda (Hung Nguyen Nam Commune) and An Thai Pagoda (Quynh Phu Commune), in areas where many households were heavily affected in terms of houses, property and crops after the storm.

Attending the program were representatives of the leadership of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province, departments, branches, local authorities, along with a large number of monks, nuns, Buddhists and people of Lam Thanh commune.

At 4 destinations, the Delegation presented 500 gifts including cash and essential necessities, with a total value of nearly 1 billion VND, to share difficulties and encourage people to soon stabilize their lives and restore production after natural disasters.

Speaking at the program, Venerable Thich Tri Hue - Chief Secretary of the Central Committee for Charity and Social Affairs of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha - emphasized: this activity is part of the Sangha's relief programs, demonstrating the spirit of "compassion, relief from suffering, and rescue from disaster" of Buddhism, contributing to spreading the tradition of humanity and affection of the Vietnamese people.

The program also aims to implement the Circular of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha and respond to the call of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front , promote the spirit of solidarity, mutual love, and timely share with people in areas affected by natural disasters.
