Delegation of intellectuals from Ho Chi Minh City visited and presented gifts in Hoa An commune, Cao Bang province

On the morning of September 25, the delegation of the journey to the source "Pride of intellectuals of the City named after Uncle Ho", led by comrade Nguyen Viet Long, Deputy Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, visited and presented gifts to policy families, people, and excellent students in difficult circumstances, affected by storms and floods in Hoa An commune, Cao Bang province.

Speaking at the program, comrade Nguyen Viet Long said that in order to express the spirit of remembering the source of drinking water and expressing the heart of the city's intellectuals to those who have devoted and sacrificed for the Fatherland, during this journey, the intellectuals participating in the journey to the source contributed their hearts to give gifts to policy families, people, and excellent students with difficult circumstances in Hoa An commune, Cao Bang province - the sacred land of the Fatherland.

After a period of mobilizing and donating, the trip's Organizing Committee has received and prepared 50 gifts with a total value of 50 million VND. "We have prepared practical gifts to support people to overcome the difficult period due to the impact of storms and floods. Each gift, though small, contains the great heart of the intellectual team of the city named after Uncle Ho who participated in this first Journey to the Source.

According to comrade Luan Chien Cong, Party Secretary, Chairman of the People's Council of Hoa An commune, the commune has a population of more than 20,400 people, the main ethnic groups are Tay, Nung, Mong, Dao, Kinh, with 10/42 extremely difficult hamlets (accounting for 1/4 of the total number of communes in the area). The commune still has 77 poor households, 252 near-poor households. The attention and sharing of the intellectual team of the city named after Uncle Ho not only provides timely support to policy families, poor but studious students but also adds confidence and motivation for the Party Committee and people of Hoa An commune to continue their efforts in the cause of building new rural areas, developing the economy - society, and sustainable poverty reduction.

Previously, the Delegation also presented 50 gifts to policy families, people, and excellent students in difficult circumstances affected by floods in Nguyen Hue commune (Cao Bang province).
