Korean team finalizes list of players for friendly match with Vietnam team

The Korean team has officially finalized the list of 24 players to prepare for two matches in the international friendly series in October, including the match against the Vietnamese team.

The most promising football players of the moment such as Kim Min-jae (Bayern Munich), Son Heung-min (Tottenham), Lee Kang-in (PSG) or Hwang Hee-chan (Wolverhampton) are all on the list.

Besides the above stars, two players Kim Jin-su (Jeonbuk) or Kim Tae-hwan (Ulsan Hyundai) were recalled by coach Jurgen Klinsmann. However, Yang Hyun-jun (Celtic) or Kim Ji-soo (Brentford) were absent.

According to plan, the Korean team is expected to gather at the Paju training center on September 19.

During FIFA Days in October, Jurgen Klinsmann and his team will play a friendly match with Tunisia on October 12, and face Vietnam on October 17.

On the Vietnamese side, coach Philippe Troussier previously called up 33 players, including 16 U23 players.

On October 8, the Vietnamese team will leave for China to play two international friendly matches during FIFA Days in October, against the Chinese team on October 10 and against the Uzbekistan team on October 13.

After concluding their tour of China, the team travelled to South Korea to play their final friendly match against the host team at the Suwon World Cup Stadium.

The three quality matches during the FIFA Days in October 2023 mentioned above are the final preparation step of the Vietnamese team before officially joining the race in the second qualifying round of the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Asia.
