Young aspirations on the foreign front

The young generation of Vietnam always carries within them the aspiration for innovation and creativity, is one of the pioneering forces contributing to the cause of national construction, protecting the Fatherland from afar and affirming the national position.

President Ho Chi Minh once said: “Youth is the backbone of the country, the future owner of the country. Whether the country is prosperous or declining, weak or strong, depends largely on the youth.” Imbued with Uncle Ho's advice, the young generation of Vietnam always continuously studies, innovates and creates to be able to contribute the most to the sustainable development of the country, worthy of representing the image of Vietnamese youth today to international friends.

For students of the Diplomatic Academy - who are proud to study and train at the school that has trained many generations of diplomats, excellent diplomats of modern Vietnamese diplomacy - always keep in mind and strive for the goal: "Learning to serve and lead".

Learning to serve

With the spirit of “learning to serve” and “learning goes hand in hand with practice”, students of the Diplomatic Academy have applied the knowledge learned in the classroom into practical activities. When Vietnam hosted the Partnership for Green Growth and the Global Goals (P4G 2025) Summit in Hanoi in April 2025, more than 200 students of the Diplomatic Academy not only participated in supporting the organization and logistics, but also actively and effectively contributed to other tasks such as translating documents, welcoming delegates and supporting the organization, coordination and participation in discussion sessions.

Nguyen Quynh Trang, one of the excellent students of the Diplomatic Academy who participated in supporting the Conference, shared: “More than a month of participating in supporting the P4G 2025 Conference has left me with many memorable lessons and memories. I got to know a professional working environment and learned experience in organizing international events. The days of translating documents, welcoming domestic and international delegates, and preparing for discussion sessions will be unforgettable experiences for me and the students of the Diplomatic Academy. These are invaluable assets, adding confidence and motivation for us to continue studying, practicing, and striving to become future diplomats, contributing to the development of the country.”

Learn to lead

In addition to the goal and responsibility of studying well to “serve” the country, the young generation of Vietnam in general and students of the Diplomatic Academy today also carry the mission of “leading”, especially in the new context, the “important and regular” task of the Vietnamese Diplomatic sector. With innovative thinking, creativity and a spirit of learning, the young generation of the Diplomatic Academy has been making practical contributions to promoting international cooperation, contributing to spreading the image of the country to international friends.

The pioneering and “leading” spirit of Vietnamese youth and students of the Diplomatic Academy is not only demonstrated through thoughts and words, but also through specific actions. One of these pioneering activities is the participation in the Model United Nations (MUN) Conference. At these events, Vietnamese youth have been playing an active role in finding solutions to urgent issues such as climate change, the arms race, or preserving national identity in the process of international integration.

Young people not only participated in discussion sessions but also boldly proposed initiatives and creative solutions towards maintaining a peaceful environment and promoting sustainable development. These initiatives not only demonstrated students’ knowledge of current world hot issues but also their spirit of daring to think, daring to do, and their views on regional and international issues.

Vietnamese Imprints

Vietnamese youth today not only participate but also play a leading role, making a strong impression at international youth forums. At the World Youth Festival held in Sochi, Russia in March 2024, the Vietnamese delegation actively participated in cultural exchange activities and international dialogues. The Vietnamese delegation, including students, officials, young doctors and nurses, and armed forces participating in the event demonstrated the proactive, confident and aspirational spirit of the young generation of Vietnam.

At the second ASEAN Future Forum held in Hanoi in February 2025, outstanding Vietnamese students enthusiastically participated in discussions on important issues such as sustainable development, climate change and cyber security, contributing many valuable ideas and initiatives for the future of the region. Notably, students of the Diplomatic Academy were also selected as Liaison Officers, supporting delegates attending the Forum. This not only demonstrates their professionalism and confidence but also affirms the unique identity of Diplomatic students: the spirit of "serving" the Fatherland, always ready to contribute their best in each specific task assigned.

At the 5th ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) Model Conference held in Kuala Lumpur in September 2025, Vietnamese youth representatives actively participated in discussions and contributed to resolutions on parliamentary cooperation and sustainable development in ASEAN. These contributions not only affirm the capacity and pioneering spirit of the young generation of Vietnam but also enhance the country's position in the ASEAN community, demonstrating the strong commitment of Vietnamese youth to regional and global development.

New development momentum

With their creativity and unceasing aspirations, the young generation of Vietnam and students of the Diplomatic Academy in particular are one of the "shock troops" in the foreign affairs front, making concrete and practical contributions to the implementation of the Party and State's foreign policies and guidelines, continuing to spread the image of a Vietnam with new potential, role and position. As General Secretary To Lam affirmed: youth are the pillars to bring the country firmly into the new era, and at the same time are the pioneers participating in new fields.

With the desire to constantly improve and youthful energy, Vietnamese youth, including diplomatic students, always try their best to make a small contribution to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland early and from afar, dedicating creativity, intelligence and enthusiasm to the common cause. Let's act together and constantly learn and create to continue affirming the value of Vietnamese diplomatic students, spreading and further enhancing the country's position so that we can stand shoulder to shoulder with friends around the world as beloved Uncle Ho wished.
