The event is an opportunity for the audience to review the heroic tradition, foster love and pride in Hanoi, a thousand-year-old culture, especially for the young generation. During the 3 days, the audience will enjoy 3 typical films about the capital for free, shown at 9am every day.
Specifically, on October 8, the film “North of the Capital” (directed by Huy Thanh, produced in 1977) will be shown, telling the story of the heroic workers protecting the Yen Phu Power Plant during the days when American bombs rained down on Hanoi.
On October 9, audiences got to watch “Long Thanh Cam Gia Ca” (directed by Dao Ba Son, Liberation Film Studio, 2010). The film won the Golden Kite Award, recreating the love story between poet To Nhu and singer Cam in the context of Thang Long in the late 18th century.
On October 10, “Hanoi 12 Days and Nights” (directed by People’s Artist Bui Dinh Hac, Vietnam Feature Film Studio, 2002) was screened. The work depicts the resilient and creative spirit of the army and people of the capital in the victory of “ Dien Bien Phu in the Air” in 1972, and won the Silver Lotus Award at the 14th Vietnam Film Festival.
