- As a specialized scientific and technical organization, in recent years, Lang Son Bridge and Road Science and Technology Association has been making practical contributions to the development of the province's infrastructure to become increasingly modern and synchronous.

Representatives of road bridge experts participated in imparting new techniques and materials in road bridge maintenance organized by Lang Son Road Bridge Science and Technology Association.

Lang Son Bridge and Road Science and Technology Association was established in 2017. Up to now, the association has 112 members who are bridge and road engineers working in state agencies and enterprises. Since its establishment, the association has implemented many effective tasks, affirming its professional capacity and scientific reputation.

Accordingly, the association has carried out many specialized tasks such as: researching topics on developing transport infrastructure; organizing seminars on applying new materials in road maintenance management...

As a result, from 2017 to present, members of the association have completed 5 research topics; contributed opinions on investment techniques for the construction of 4 key transport infrastructure projects; participated in giving written opinions on the construction of provincial planning...

In particular, the topic "Report on assessment of current situation, investment solutions for construction and management of rural traffic bridges" was the subject of much effort by the association to investigate and survey the reality. As a result, in 2023, the association completed a survey of 1,717 locations and works across the province. At the same time, the association proposed investment solutions to repair 141 works, build 313 new damaged and weak bridges in the period of 2024-2030 and build digital maps to serve the management of investment and construction in the future.

This is important data for the Department of Construction (formerly the Department of Transport) to advise competent authorities to approve the project of construction, management, exploitation and maintenance of bridges on rural roads in the period 2024-2030. From 2024 and 2025, the communes have deployed 20 rural traffic bridges, which have been highly appreciated by the people.

Mr. Hoang Van Diep, residing in Na Soong area, Dong Kinh ward, shared: The old Na Soong bridge over the stream in my village is small and very weak, making travel potentially unsafe. In 2023, officials from the Bridge and Road Science and Technology Association came to conduct a very thorough survey, gathering detailed information from the people about hydrological conditions and travel needs. Currently, the province has completed the investment in a durable reinforced concrete Na Soong bridge. With a solid bridge, transporting agricultural products and taking children to school will be safe and convenient, paving the way for people to develop the economy .

Mr. Tran Van Vuong, Deputy Director of the Department of Construction, emphasized: The data that the Bridge and Road Science and Technology Association has researched and the specialized reports are not only simple figures but also a scientific basis with high practicality and reference documents serving the advisory work of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, and Provincial People's Committee in implementing traffic infrastructure development.

In the field of traffic safety and construction of important works, the association has provided information from a scientific perspective, explained the causes of accidents and traffic jams, and recommended technical solutions for competent authorities to overcome shortcomings.

Mr. Nghiem Van Hai, Chairman of Lang Son Bridge and Road Science and Technology Association, said: Based on the achieved results, the association is continuing to closely monitor the situation to complete the tasks from now until the end of 2025, deploying tasks in 2026 with specific contents such as: handing over digital maps of rural traffic bridges to communes for management; continuing to advise investors on implementing phase 2 of the Dong Dang - Tra Linh expressway project; organizing work with 4 urban wards to propose a number of solutions to improve the effectiveness of planning management, urban infrastructure, and traffic safety, etc.

With its practical contributions, Lang Son Bridge and Road Science and Technology Association has helped state management agencies build plans and implement effective and sustainable traffic development solutions, directly serving the socio-economic development of the province.
