Việt NamViệt Nam26/03/2025

After announcing 10 tours to Bai Tu Long Bay and 3 tours connecting Ha Long Bay and Bai Tu Long Bay. On March 29, 2025, Quang Ninh province officially opened tours to Bai Tu Long Bay. This important event shows Quang Ninh's efforts in exploiting the tourism potential of Bai Tu Long Bay.

According to Decision No. 2119/QD-UBND dated July 19, 2024 of the People's Committee of Quang Ninh province, 10 journeys on Bai Tu Long Bay will take visitors to explore famous landmarks such as: Tay Hoi Island, Nha Tro Cave, Phat Co Cave, Hon Xep Park, Lao Vong fishing village, Cai Lim beach, Minh Chau Island, Ngoc Vung Island, Quan Lan Island... Each journey brings different experiences, from enjoying the majestic natural landscape to learning about the cultural life of local fishermen.

Bai Tu Long National Park has many destinations on the Bai Tu Long Bay tourism itinerary that will open from March 2025. In the photo: A corner of Ba Mun Island in Bai Tu Long National Park.

Many destinations on the published itineraries are within the scope of Bai Tu Long National Park. To prepare conditions to welcome guests and prepare to deploy tours within the park, ensuring compliance with legal regulations while preserving the landscape and biodiversity, the Management Board of Bai Tu Long National Park has stepped up coordination with relevant agencies and units to prepare conditions to welcome guests.

Accordingly, the National Park Management Board has coordinated with Viettel Quang Ninh to deploy telecommunications infrastructure to cover all telecommunications signal depressions within the park to facilitate the management of resource protection, control of future tourism activities and especially the smooth experience of visitors on social networks while visiting and experiencing; coordinated with Mai Quyen One Member Co., Ltd. to soon install a warning sign system on the tour of the National Park.

Mr. Pham Quoc Viet, Head of Science and International Cooperation Department, Bai Tu Long National Park Management Board added: Together with the coordination with localities and enterprises, Bai Tu Long National Park Management Board will review and count ancient plant species (focusing on species with scientific and local traditional cultural values) to propose recognition as Vietnam Heritage Trees, thereby contributing to increasing the unique value of Bai Tu Long National Park and orienting enterprises to build experiential tourism products in the forest, discovery tourism, etc. We will also develop a plan for biodiversity conservation tasks associated with tourism development in the short and long term.

At the time when Quang Ninh province launched the Bai Tu Long Bay tour, with attractions within the scope of the National Park, visitors can experience the bay's scenery from a ship or overnight cruise. However, with planned tourism products such as trekking, sightseeing, and exploring the forest ecosystem, it has only been allowed to be implemented in the Ancient Myrtle Forest on Minh Chau island commune, Van Don district. Out of a total of 156 heritage trees recognized by the National Park, up to now, visitors can access 150 trees, and with 6 heritage trees including 3 red-barked Myrtle trees and 3 ancient Trai Ly trees, the Bai Tu Long National Park Management Board still needs to complete the planning and conservation plans to be able to welcome visitors.

Heritage Journey is a pioneering tourism product connecting Ha Long Bay and Bai Tu Long Bay developed by Viet Thuan Transport Company Limited.

Regarding the three tourist itineraries connecting Ha Long Bay and Bai Tu Long Bay. Tourists can depart from Tuan Chau Port (Ha Long City) to join the overnight journey on the bay provided by Viet Thuan Transport Company Limited. Tourists can visit some islands in Bai Tu Long Bay such as Thang Loi, Ngoc Vung, Quan Lan, Minh Chau or have the opportunity to visit Co Cave, Thay Cave, Cap La Cave... The heritage journey connecting the two heritage regions was launched by the enterprise from May 2024, different from the previous time when after moving to Bai Tu Long Bay for sightseeing, tourists had to return to Ha Long Bay to stay overnight, in the near future, tourists can stay overnight right at the overnight stops on Bai Tu Long Bay, thanks to which tourism products on Bai Tu Long Bay are not only more convenient, diverse and richer for tourists but also more cost-effective for businesses, thereby encouraging more and more businesses to participate in providing services.

To develop the fleet in Bai Tu Long Bay, Quang Ninh province is considering approving the plan to develop the fleet in Ha Long Bay and Bai Tu Long Bay, in conjunction with the communication plan to open Bai Tu Long Bay for tourism. The plan encourages steel-hulled tourist ships operating in Ha Long Bay to register and transfer operations to Bai Tu Long Bay. By 2025, it is expected to add 100 tourist ships. In the period 2026-2030, the province will annually review and announce the number of added ships to ensure that the total number of ships and total tonnage do not exceed the tourism capacity announced by the competent authority. Strive to achieve 100% of the number of tourist ships being newly built/replaced with steel hulls (or equivalent materials) by 2030. At the same time, encourage the construction of new tourist ships with a capacity of 200 passengers or more, double-bottomed accommodation ships, and improve standards, technical safety conditions and environmental protection, with high service quality.
