Hue tourism earns 178 billion VND on Lunar New Year occasion

(Fatherland) - On February 1, the Hue City Department of Tourism said that the number of visitors to the locality during the 2025 Lunar New Year increased compared to the same period, in which international visitors were recorded to be more numerous than domestic visitors.

Accordingly, in 7 days, from January 25 to 31, 2025 (from December 26 of the year of Giap Thin to the 3rd day of the Lunar New Year of At Ty), the number of visitors to Hue City is estimated at 118,614, an increase of 35% over the same period (international visitors are estimated at 60,170, an increase of 33% over the same period; domestic visitors are estimated at 58,444, an increase of 36% over the same period). The number of guests staying is estimated at 50,930, an increase of 35% over the same period. Room occupancy is estimated at 63%. Tourism revenue is estimated at 178 billion VND, an increase of 33%.

Tourists visit Hue Imperial City.

On January 31 alone (the third day of the Lunar New Year), the number of visitors to Hue City is estimated at 30,861, of which international visitors are estimated at 15,122 and domestic visitors are estimated at 15,739. Tourism revenue is estimated at 45 billion VND.

According to the Hue Monuments Conservation Center, this year, the relics managed by the unit apply the policy of free entrance tickets on the first day of the Lunar New Year (instead of 3 days of Tet as before). Although the weather on the first day of Tet is cold and rainy, the number of visitors coming to visit, enjoy spring, and experience at the relics belonging to Hue heritage is still very large.
