
Faced with the serious situation of storms, floods and landslides in the Northwest mountainous region and the North Central region, causing many losses in human lives and property, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has sent a document to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Hanoi People's Committee regarding the postponement of the first World Cultural Festival in Hanoi.
Accordingly, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Hanoi People's Committee have been actively preparing to organize the first World Cultural Festival in Hanoi, which is scheduled to open on the evening of October 3 at the Thang Long Imperial Citadel Heritage Site. Up to now, nearly 50 embassies and international organizations have registered to participate in the "World Cultural Festival in Hanoi ".
However, in recent days, the situation of storms, floods and landslides in the Northwest mountainous region and the North Central region has been very serious, causing many losses in human lives and property. The Prime Minister has promptly issued dispatches to closely direct the work of preventing, combating and overcoming the consequences of natural disasters, ensuring the stability of people's lives. The recovery work is very urgent, but still faces many difficulties, requiring the support and cooperation of the whole country.
In that context, the Festival Organizing Committee has considered and decided to move the Festival from October 3 to 5 to October 10 to 12, 2025. The opening ceremony will take place on the evening of October 10, 2025 at the Thang Long Heritage Conservation Center - Hanoi.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism said that during this time, relevant agencies and units will continue to coordinate closely and actively prepare to ensure the organization of the first World Cultural Festival is highly effective and successful.
