Stop operating some bus routes due to losses

On August 20, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Be, Director of Dak Lak Automobile Transport Joint Stock Company, said: "The company has just stopped another bus route No. 10 from Dak Lak Interprovincial Bus Station to Buon Trap town center, Krong Ana district due to business losses."

"There are too many service vehicles and disguised contract vehicles running, causing the buses to lose more money, so the unit has asked to cut routes. Currently, the unit only operates 3 routes from Buon Ma Thuot City to Krong Bong District (Dak Lak) and Dak Mil District, Gia Nghia City ( Dak Nong Province), but it is likely that they will stop more in the near future because operations are very difficult," Mr. Be affirmed.

According to Dak Lak Automobile Transport Joint Stock Company, the company used to have 110 vehicles in operation, but now it has reduced all of them to only a few vehicles, the rest are in storage. However, the remaining routes are operating with few passengers, running costs are not enough, and they have to cover losses.

It is known that from the end of 2023 until now, this is the third bus route of Dak Lak Automobile Transport Joint Stock Company to stop operating due to low number of passengers and business losses. Previously, in early December 2023, two bus routes of this company also stopped operating, including route No. 12 from Buon Ma Thuot City - Lak District and route No. 13 from Buon Ma Thuot City - Krong No District (Dak Nong Province).

The reason is that the current situation of disguised service vehicles picking up passengers is widespread, making it impossible for public passenger transport businesses to compete. Meanwhile, the handling of this type of disguised transport by the authorities is not regular, continuous and drastic.
