Provincial Road 175 in Lao Cai is cut off due to landslide.

At around 3:00 p.m. on October 6, at Km8+50 of Provincial Road 175B, Pung Luong Commune (near Nam Khat Gas Station) was cut off by a landslide. The volume of landslide was about 2,000m3, causing traffic congestion on the route. Currently, the weather is unfavorable, rocks from above continue to fall, and rescue vehicles have not been able to reach.

Immediately after receiving information about the natural disaster, the commune government assigned forces to block off and warn people not to pass through this location, and at the same time mobilized on-site machinery and checked safety to proceed with leveling rocks and soil, and clearing the road as soon as possible.

The Commune Military Command coordinated with units and villages to prepare the "Four on-the-spot" plan well, arranging materials, vehicles, forces, and logistics to prepare for rescue at key locations at risk of flash floods, inundation, and landslides.

Comrade Pham Tien Lam, Chairman of the People's Committee of Pung Luong Commune, said that due to the impact of storm No. 10 in the commune, 4 people were injured, 19 houses were damaged, many essential works were buried and damaged, estimated damage of more than 1.7 billion VND. In order to ensure absolute safety for the people, the commune government has resolutely evacuated 5 households in areas with high risk of landslides to a safe place.
