Vehicles traveling on Highway 785, through Khedol intersection
Provincial Road 785 was invested about 20 years ago, is the main route connecting the old Tay Ninh town with the old Tan Chau district and to Ka Tum Border Gate. After 20 years of exploitation, along with the rapid development of the socio -economy, including factories, industrial clusters, agricultural production in the area, Provincial Road 785 is no longer able to meet the needs of travel and transporting goods. Although there are up to 4 lanes, this route is overloaded in terms of traffic volume, especially heavy-duty cars, container trucks, etc.
The road condition shows that many sections are degraded, with potholes and the asphalt surface sinking due to the frequent use of heavy vehicles. The drainage system on both sides of the road is silted and damaged, so during the rainy season, rainwater cannot drain away, leading to localized flooding in many sections.
In the past, although the old Tay Ninh province has been maintained and repaired many times, it was only a temporary solution, because after a period of maintenance, the road continued to be damaged.
At Tan Phu intersection (DT.785), the road surface is damaged and often flooded.
Mr. Nguyen Hoang Vinh, residing in Tan Xuan Hamlet, Tan Phu Commune, Tay Ninh Province, said that when it rains, localized flooding occurs on Highway 785. In addition, this route has a lot of truck traffic, especially container trucks and heavy trucks. To avoid damaged sections, motorcyclists have to drive through the car lane, so the risk of traffic accidents is very high.
Mr. Vinh hopes that the authorities will soon upgrade and expand Route 785, thereby limiting the risk of traffic insecurity and localized flooding during the rainy season, creating favorable conditions for socio-economic development.
According to Mr. Nguyen Van Hung, residing in Thanh Dong quarter, Binh Minh ward, Tay Ninh province (Khedol intersection area), this is an intersection with traffic lights, so when the red light comes, many large trucks carrying heavy goods stop and wait for the light, causing the road surface to sink and the asphalt to protrude.
At some sections on Highway 785, the road surface is degraded.
Chairman of Binh Minh Ward People's Committee Luong Ba Can said that Provincial Road 785 has signs of overload, degradation, and potential traffic accident risks. Therefore, the local government recommends that the province consider upgrading and expanding it soon.
According to the Tay Ninh Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board, on July 21, 2025, the unit issued a Submission on the appraisal of the project proposal report for DT.785 (section from the old Tan Chau town to Ka Tum intersection), this is one of the steps in the implementation process to invest in this project.
Thus, the section from Lam Vo bridge (Binh Minh ward) to Tan Chau commune, Tay Ninh province, still has no investment policy to upgrade, while this road section has degraded. People have requested the province to consider upgrading the road surface and drainage system along both sides of the road to ensure traffic safety and facilitate traffic./.
