Born in 1960 in Neuilly-sur-Seine (France), Eric Sanger Monteros was a civil engineer, but his passion for photography soon led him away from numbers and into the world of light. At the age of 16, Eric picked up his first Nikon and took, developed, and printed black and white photos himself.

For him, photography is a way of looking at the world with the most stillness and honesty. Although digital technology opens up countless conveniences, he remains faithful to the artisanal spirit of analog photography, observing, waiting and only pressing the shutter when the moment truly speaks.
From his early photojournalism, Eric found his own voice when it came to water - a material that is both real and abstract. He carefully observed and studied the phenomena of reflection, refraction, light and movement, combining scientific knowledge with artistic intuition to create dreamlike frames.

The water in his photos reflects not only the sky but also the human mind. “I don’t use software to create the images. All the pictures are real, because I believe the light is perfect,” he shared.
For more than two decades, Eric has brought this world to many international art spaces. His water photography inspired the performance project Water Projection with conductor Nicolas Kruger and pianist Mara Dobresco, performed in Paris, Croix and cities in Romania.
He also participated in the Rencontres d'Arles 2023, the Fantazia Festival 2020 at Chateau de Montigny and the Wa Art Fair 2024 in Paris. In 2025, he collaborated with Japanese dancer Mary Katakura on the short film The Quiet Fold, further expanding the language of images through the dialogue between movement and light.

“Infinite Reflections” is an invitation to enter a world where water and light meet. In the Ka Koncept space in the heart of Hanoi, where glass, lakes and mirrors coexist, Eric Sanger Monteros’s work seems to find a natural resonance. Amidst the hustle and bustle of the city, viewers are left in a state of stillness, like a drop of water that, after touching the ground, still manages to reflect the sky.
The two talks of the art tour “Boundless Reflections” will take place at 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. on October 26, at Ka Koncept (3 Hai Ba Trung, Hanoi), presented in French with Vietnamese translation.
