EVN still reports big loss in 2023 despite 2 electricity price increases

In a recent report sent to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) said it continues to face many difficulties and challenges in ensuring electricity supply and financial balance.

Despite the electricity price adjustment of 3% and 4.5%, EVN still had a loss in 2023. EVN still recorded an estimated loss of VND 17,000 billion, with the parent company alone losing VND 24,595 billion.

Many goods and services must declare prices according to the new proposal.

The Ministry of Finance is seeking comments on the draft Decree detailing and implementing measures for a number of articles of the Law on Prices.

'Big guy' Vinafood 1 must divest all capital in 14 enterprises

Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai has just signed a decision approving the restructuring project of the Northern Food Corporation (Vinafood 1) for the period up to the end of 2025.

The project's objective is to build Vinafood 1 into a strong enterprise, capable of competing domestically and internationally in processing, trading, and exporting Vietnamese food and agricultural products, maintaining its position as one of the top three Vietnamese enterprises in the field of rice purchasing and exporting. The Ministry of Industry and Trade has just sent the Government a further report on the proposals in the draft plan to implement the Power Plan VIII. Regarding concentrated solar power, the report of the Ministry of Industry and Trade stated that the plan to implement the Power Plan VIII has not yet considered specific project progress.

Vietnamese watermelon has 'visa' for official export to China

During the State visit to Vietnam by General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping from December 12-13, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the General Administration of Customs of China signed a Protocol on plant quarantine requirements for fresh watermelons exported from Vietnam to China.

The Ministry of Finance has just completed a draft Decree regulating administrative sanctions for violations in the field of price management.

In this draft, the Ministry of Finance proposes a fine of 120-150 million VND for the act of using the Price Stabilization Fund not in accordance with the law.

Nearly 150 gas stations in Hanoi have issued electronic invoices for each sale.

According to preliminary statistics as of November 30, 2023, there are more than 240 retail gasoline businesses in the area under the management of the Hanoi Tax Department with more than 450 stores and nearly 2,000 fuel pumps.

From December 11, tourists with passports are allowed to go through Bac Luan 2 border gate.
