Nearly 3,500 cruise ship passengers arrive in Da Nang

DNO - On October 22, the cruise ship Costa Serena operated by Khang Huy Holiday Vietnam Company Limited brought nearly 3,500 international passengers and crew to Tien Sa port, Da Nang.

During their stay in Da Nang, tourists will visit famous scenic spots and destinations of Da Nang such as Sun World Ba Na Hill tourist area; visit the special national scenic relic Ngu Hanh Son; experience city tours to explore local culture and cuisine, see the sea, Son Tra peninsula... some guests choose to visit Hoi An ancient town ( Quang Nam ).

Mr. Ly Dac Nam, Director of Khang Huy Holiday Vietnam Tourism Company Limited, said that the cruise tourist season usually starts from October this year to April next year. The company mainly exploits tourists to the Central region, and plans to welcome about 50 cruise ships at both Tien Sa (Da Nang) and Chan May (Thua Thien Hue) ports this year.

The characteristic of cruise tourists is that their stay at the destination is not too long, and they like to experience culture, sightseeing, and shopping, so if possible, the city can soon add more large shopping centers to stimulate spending of this type of tourist.

It is known that the Costa Serena cruise ship departed from Hong Kong port (China) and headed straight to Tien Sa port, Da Nang. After sightseeing and shopping, the ship will leave Da Nang at 6 p.m. the same day.

According to the Department of Tourism, in the first 9 months of 2024, the city had 27 ships arriving at the port with 32,550 passengers arriving in Da Nang, an increase of 5 trips and 14,450 passengers compared to the total for the whole year of 2023.
