Vietnam's domestic pepper market on October 11, 2025, prices remained stable, Dak Lak and Lam Dong led. Vietnam's domestic pepper market in the trading session on October 11, 2025 continued to show signs of stability when most key provinces kept their purchasing prices unchanged compared to the previous day.

Dak Lak and Lam Dong are currently sharing the market leadership position with the highest price of 148,000 VND/kg. Both regions have kept prices stable (no change compared to October 9, 2025).

Gia Lai closed the session at 146,000 VND/kg, unchanged from the previous day.

Ho Chi Minh City recorded an average purchase price of VND 146,500/kg, no change.

Dong Nai keeps the price unchanged, stable at 146,000 VND/kg (no change compared to October 9, 2025).

In just the first 9 months of 2025, Vietnam's pepper exports reached nearly 1.3 billion USD, equivalent to the whole year of 2024. The average export price reached about 6,773.5 USD/ton, an increase of more than 37% over the same period last year.

According to businesses, pepper prices increased due to a decrease in global supply and strong demand from major markets such as the US, India and the Middle East. Vietnam still holds the position of the world's number one pepper supplier.

The world pepper market in the trading session on October 11, 2025 recorded a slight downward trend in Indonesian products, while pepper prices of other major producing countries such as Vietnam, Brazil, and Malaysia remained stable, with no significant changes compared to the previous trading session (October 10, 2025).

Indonesian pepper price is the only market with price adjustment today, and is on a downward trend:

Lampung Black Pepper price (Indonesia) decreased -0.32%, closing at 7,230 USD/ton.

The price of Muntok White Pepper (Indonesia) also decreased slightly by -0.31%, currently remaining at 10,088 USD/ton.

The Brazilian and Malaysian markets today recorded complete stability across all categories, with no changes compared to 10/10/2025:

Brazilian Black Pepper ASTA 570 price is stable at 6,200 USD/ton, continuing to be the lowest price in the statistics table.

Kuching Black Pepper (Malaysia) ASTA price is stable, currently remaining at 9,500 USD/ton.

Malaysian ASTA White Pepper price was stable at USD 12,500/ton, still the highest price in the table.

Vietnam's pepper prices of all types are stable compared to yesterday, with no fluctuations recorded in any segment:

Vietnamese black pepper (500 gr/l) reached 6,600 USD/ton.

Vietnamese black pepper (550 gr/l) reached 6,800 USD/ton.

Although it is only the end of September, 2025 has already become the best year in the history of pepper exports of the state of Espírito Santo (Brazil), according to the Brazilian newspaper Agazeta.

From January to September, the state exported a total of $269.3 million. Meanwhile, last year, total exports only reached $163.1 million.

The previous best export year on record was 2022, when Espírito Santo producers earned $181.9 million in foreign exchange.

Currently, the state of Espírito Santo accounts for 65% of Brazil's total black pepper exports. This figure was released by the Ministry of Development, Industry, Trade and Services (MDIC), compiled by the State Secretariat of Agriculture.

This positive result comes from two basic reasons: Espírito Santo's pepper output increased sharply and pepper prices in the international market remained high.

In 2022, to reach 181.9 million USD, the state of Espírito Santo exported 51,500 tons of pepper. Currently, to reach 269.3 million USD, the volume is only about 43,742 tons. If this pace is maintained until the end of the year, 2025 will set a record in both value and output.

“Thirty-five to forty years ago, no one thought that Espírito Santo could surpass Pará state in black pepper production, which at that time accounted for more than 80 percent of Brazil’s pepper production,” said Enio Bergoli, the state’s Agriculture Minister.

But today Espírito Santo accounts for about 65 percent of the country’s pepper production. The state’s output has increased tenfold in the past decade, from just over 7,000 tons to nearly 80,000 tons — a leap unprecedented in any pepper-growing region in Brazil or the world.”

The next step for Espírito Santo is to increase the added value of its products. Currently, almost all of its pepper exports are sold to countries like Vietnam, where sterilization and industrial processing are carried out. Major markets in the world, especially the US, only import pepper after it has gone through these stages.
