Pig price in Central Highlands
The Central Highlands region recorded stable market prices in most provinces, with only a few localities seeing slight decreases.
Nghe An and Ha Tinh have a decrease of 1,000 VND/kg, now down to 54,000 VND/kg. Thanh Hoa and Quang Tri keep the price at 55,000 VND/kg, Hue maintains 56,000 VND/kg, and Da Nang is higher at 57,000 VND/kg.
In the Central Highlands, Quang Ngai, Gia Lai, Dak Lak and Khanh Hoa continued to stabilize at 58,000 VND/kg. Notably, Lam Dong remained the highest in the region at 59,000 VND/kg.

Southern pig price
In the South, the live hog market generally remained stable, except for Dong Thap, which increased by 1,000 VND/kg to 60,000 VND/kg - the same level as Ca Mau, the locality with the highest price in the country.
Dong Nai, Tay Ninh, An Giang provinces and Ho Chi Minh City all remained at 59,000 VND/kg. Vinh Long and Can Tho maintained at 58,000 VND/kg.
Currently, the Southern region is trading in the range of 58,000 - 60,000 VND/kg, reflecting the balance of supply and demand.
The epidemic continues to be a major impact factor.
According to the Department of Animal Husbandry, Veterinary and Fisheries of Son La province, since the beginning of the year, African swine fever has broken out in 263 groups and villages of 44 communes, causing more than 8,200 pigs - equivalent to 420 tons - to be destroyed, and to date there are still 37 outbreaks that have not been controlled.
Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Toan, Head of the Sub-Department, said that the unit is coordinating with localities to count the pig herd, thereby planning to vaccinate about 25,000 healthy pigs aged 4 weeks and older. However, vaccination is not carried out in epidemic areas or areas threatened by epidemics.
In addition, 7,000 liters of chemicals will be distributed to periodically disinfect the environment to limit pathogens. Livestock farmers are required to comply with the "5 no" measures: "no hiding the epidemic, no buying or transporting sick pigs, no dumping of pig carcasses into the environment, no use of untreated leftover food, and no spreading of the epidemic".
At the same time, sanitation activities, sprinkling lime powder, disinfecting barns and strictly controlling people and vehicles entering and exiting the livestock area are also being carried out.
