Pepper prices in Gia Lai dropped sharply, to 145,000 VND/kg

(GLO)- On October 2, the domestic pepper market was less active as pepper prices continued to fall. In Gia Lai, pepper prices fell the most in the country by 1,500 VND/kg, to 145,000 VND.

With the same decrease of 1,000 VND/kg, pepper in Lam Dong, Dong Nai provinces and Ho Chi Minh City all returned to 146,000 VND/kg.

This is the second consecutive day that domestic pepper prices have decreased, in the context of the beginning of the new coffee harvest. Traders in Vietnam have begun to liquidate their pepper inventories to trade in coffee.

Meanwhile, in the world market, pepper prices are stable today. Specifically, the price of Indonesian Lampung black pepper is currently at 6,979 USD/ton; the price of Muntok white pepper is at 9,889 USD/ton.

Brazilian ASTA black pepper price is at USD 6,500/ton. Malaysian ASTA black pepper price is currently at USD 9,600/ton; white pepper price is at USD 13,000/ton.

The price of Vietnamese black pepper 500 gr/l reached 6,600 USD/ton, 550 gr/l reached 6,800 USD/ton; the price of white pepper reached 9,250 USD/ton.
