Rice prices today, October 13, remain stable in the Mekong Delta. The trading market was quiet at the beginning of the week, domestic and export prices remained unchanged.

According to the latest update, the price of rice today, October 13, in the Mekong Delta region has hardly changed compared to the end of last week. The market at the beginning of the week was quite quiet, with very few new transactions due to the lack of rice in the fields and the purchasing warehouses still in a state of restraint.

For fresh rice, the price of IR 50404 fluctuates between 5,000 and 5,200 VND/kg, OM 5451 from 5,400 to 5,600 VND/kg, Dai Thom 8 and OM 18 are both at 5,800 to 6,000 VND/kg. Nang Hoa 9 reaches 6,000 to 6,200 VND/kg, while OM 308 is at 5,700 to 5,900 VND/kg.

Many localities such as An Giang , Can Tho, and Dong Thap recorded sparse buying and selling activities, while rice prices remained stable compared to the weekend session.

Raw rice and finished product prices today

At warehouses in An Giang, the price of raw rice for export remains at a high level. Specifically, OM 380 rice fluctuates between 7,800 and 7,900 VND/kg, OM 5451 is at 8,100 and 8,200 VND/kg, IR 504 and CL 555 are in the range of 8,100 and 8,250 VND/kg, while OM 18 remains at 8,500 and 8,600 VND/kg.

For finished rice, OM 380 fluctuates at 8,800 - 9,000 VND/kg, IR 504 is stable at 9,500 - 9,700 VND/kg. Warehouses in the area buy little, transactions are slow so prices are almost unchanged.

Rice by-product price today

Prices of by-products remained stable compared to the weekend. OM 5451 broken rice fluctuated at 7,250 - 7,350 VND/kg, while rice bran was in the range of 9,000 - 10,000 VND/kg.

In An Giang and Dong Thap , the amount of goods in stock is low, transactions are few, but prices have not decreased. Small retailers said that stable supply helps prices remain stable, without major fluctuations.

Retail rice price today

In retail markets, rice prices today are generally stable, with no significant fluctuations. Nang Nhen rice remains the highest in the market, at VND28,000/kg. Huong Lai rice is stable at VND22,000/kg, and regular rice fluctuates at VND13,000-15,000/kg.

Popular fragrant rice varieties such as Thai long grain rice cost 20,000 - 22,000 VND/kg, Nang Hoa 21,000 VND/kg, Taiwan 20,000 VND/kg, Jasmine 16,000 - 18,000 VND/kg, Soc Thai 20,000 VND/kg, and Japanese rice 22,000 VND/kg.

Rice export price today

In the export market, Vietnamese rice prices remained stable after a slight decrease last week. According to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA), 5% broken fragrant rice is currently fluctuating at 430-450 USD/ton; 100% broken rice is at 310-314 USD/ton; and Jasmine rice remains at 486-490 USD/ton.

Export prices are currently slowing as new orders from Asia and Africa have yet to start, while supplies from Thailand and India are becoming more competitive, traders said.

As of the morning of October 13, domestic and export rice prices remained stable. Exporting enterprises continued to monitor international market fluctuations to adjust their purchasing strategies. Rice prices are expected to remain stable this week before new fluctuations from major import markets such as the Philippines, China and Indonesia.
