Pepper price today in domestic market
The domestic pepper market in Vietnam today recorded a slight upward trend in all surveyed regions. The increase was recorded from +1,000 VND/kg to +2,000 VND/kg. The purchasing price in key regions increased, fluctuating around 145,000 to 147,000 VND/kg.
The Central Highlands provinces all recorded price increases, with a uniform increase of +1,000 VND/kg, except for Dak Nong with a stronger increase:
Gia Lai has an average price of 145,000 VND/kg, an increase of 1,000 VND/kg.
Dak Nong has an average price of 147,000 VND/kg and is the area with the strongest increase today, up to 2,000 VND/kg.
Dak Lak is the province with the highest price in the Central Highlands group, recording 147,000 VND/kg, an increase of 1,000 VND/kg.
The Southeastern provinces are also in the general increasing trend, with an increase of 1,000 VND/kg:
Binh Phuoc kept the average purchase price at 146,000 VND/kg, equivalent to an increase of 1,000 VND/kg.
Ba Ria - Vung Tau also maintained the average price at 146,000 VND/kg, up 1,000 VND/kg.

In general, pepper prices today in key areas increased simultaneously, with prices of 146,000 - 147,000 VND/kg recorded in most regions. This shows that the market is showing positive signs after previous trading sessions.
Based on current data, the future outlook for pepper prices is assessed positively, especially in the short and medium term, thanks to the recovery of exports and trade promotion activities. According to estimates from the Import-Export Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade), Vietnam's pepper exports in September 2025 reached 22 thousand tons, worth 144 million USD, up 2.5% in volume and 2.8% in value compared to the previous month.
At the same time, it increased sharply by 28.6% in volume and 30.6% in value compared to the same period in 2024. In the first 9 months of the year, exports reached 188 thousand tons, worth 1.27 billion USD, down 6.3% in volume but up 28.7% in value, mainly due to the average export price increasing by 37.4% to 6,774 USD/ton.
In the short term, the upward trend in domestic prices (as recorded today) is expected to continue to support pepper growers and exporters, especially in the last months of 2025. In the long term, the industry needs a strategy of deep processing, brand building and market diversification (not just raw exports) to maintain its position.
Risk factors such as fierce competition from other countries, climate change affecting supply, or changes in import regulations may have an impact, but overall, the outlook is optimistic with the potential for world pepper prices to stabilize or increase slightly if global demand recovers more strongly.
World pepper price today October 6, 2025
The world pepper market today recorded a generally stable trend in most segments. Pepper prices of major producing countries such as Vietnam, Brazil, and Malaysia did not change significantly compared to the previous trading session. The standard prices of key markets were updated as follows:
Indonesian pepper prices recorded a stable trend, with only one exception that had an adjustment:
Indonesian Black Pepper price was stable at 7,013 USD/ton (equivalent to 185,165 VND/kg).
White Pepper price is currently at 9,938 USD/ton, recording a slight increase of +0.01 USD/ton (equivalent to 262,394 VND/kg).
The Brazilian and Malaysian markets today recorded complete stability across all categories:
The price of Brazilian ASTA 570 black pepper was stable at 6,200 USD/ton (equivalent to 163,699 VND/kg), the lowest price in the statistics table.
Malaysian ASTA black pepper prices are stable, currently remaining at 9,500 USD/ton (equivalent to 250,829 VND/kg).
Malaysia's ASTA white pepper price remained stable at USD 12,500/ton (equivalent to VND 330,038/kg), still the highest price in the table.
Vietnam's pepper prices of all types are stable compared to yesterday, with no fluctuations recorded in any segment:
Black pepper 500 g/l reached 6,600 USD/ton (equivalent to 174,260 VND/kg).
Black pepper 550 g/l reached 6,800 USD/ton (equivalent to 179,541 VND/kg).
Similarly, Vietnam's ASTA white pepper price remained stable compared to yesterday, reaching 9,250 USD/ton (equivalent to 244,228 VND/kg).

Overall, the world pepper market in today's trading session was assessed as very stable, with almost zero fluctuations in major exporting countries, except for a very small adjustment for Indonesian white pepper.
September export prices reached USD 6,555/ton, up 0.2% month-on-month and 1.5% month-on-month in September 2024, suggesting that the upward trend could continue. Vietnamese pepper is enjoying a double advantage: domestic prices are rising, exports are maintaining a steady pace, while international demand is stable. The Vietnam Pepper and Spices Association (VPSA)’s participation in the Anuga 2025 Fair in Germany (October 4-8, 2025) has resulted in new memoranda of understanding (MOUs).
These help expand the European market – where Germany is the largest market with a demand of 28,000-30,000 tons/year, and Vietnam accounts for 52% of the market share. However, exports to Germany in the first 8 months of 2025 decreased by 27% (only 8,800 tons), requiring businesses to adapt to strict standards on food safety, organic and sustainability.
