Gasoline price today August 19: World price reverses to increase, how is it domestically?

World oil prices jumped more than 1% as European leaders and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky traveled to the White House to meet US President Donald Trump to discuss ways to end the conflict in Ukraine.

On the morning of August 19, oil prices reversed direction and increased. Brent oil increased by 75 cents, equivalent to 1.14%, to 66.60 USD/barrel; WTI oil increased by about 62 cents, equivalent to 0.99%, to 63.42 USD/barrel.

According to analysts, the market is still waiting for a roadmap to end the Russia-Ukraine conflict and hopes for a trilateral meeting between the US, Ukraine and Russia soon. Updated information shows that both Russia and Ukraine want to end the conflict and the negotiations are looking for a long-term peace agreement instead of just a ceasefire.

In other developments, ahead of an important meeting in the US, senior US leaders made tough statements about oil imports from Russia. White House trade adviser Peter Navarro criticized India's imports of crude oil from Russia, saying the move funded the war in Ukraine and needed to stop. He also warned that India was "becoming a global clearinghouse" for Russian oil, helping Moscow convert embargoed crude into high-value exports.

Given the recent developments in world petroleum prices, domestic petroleum retail prices are forecast to fluctuate in opposite directions in this week's adjustment session. Accordingly, gasoline prices may increase slightly, while oil prices may decrease. This forecast does not include the Petroleum Price Stabilization Fund.

On the morning of August 19, the retail prices of petroleum products announced by Petrolimex in the market of region 2 (far from ports, warehouses, factories...) were as follows: Unleaded gasoline RON 95-V 20,760 VND/liter, unleaded gasoline RON 95-III 20,270 VND/liter, bio-fuel E10 RON 95-III 20,050 VND/liter, bio-fuel E5 RON 92-II 19,730 VND/liter, diesel 0.001SV 18,900 VND/liter, diesel 0.05D-II 18,430 VND/liter, kerosene 18,380 VND/liter, fuel oil 18,680 VND/kg./.
