QNgTV- The Ministry of Home Affairs is proposing to increase the regional minimum wage by 7.2% from January 1, 2026, equivalent to VND250,000 - 350,000 per month depending on the region.
Regarding the proposal to increase the regional minimum wage by 7.2% from January 1, 2026 by the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association proposed a maximum increase of 6.5%. Meanwhile, the Vietnam Association of Small and Medium Enterprises proposed to study and divide the minimum wage adjustment roadmap into two phases. That is, from January 1, 2026 to May 30, 2026, an increase of 4% and from June 1, 2025 to December 31, 2026, an increase of 3.2%.
The Ministry of Home Affairs emphasized that the 7.2% increase was based on the proposal of the National Wage Council in its report to the Government on July 25.
Of which, the Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association and the Vietnam Association of Small and Medium Enterprises are two members of the above council who participated in voting to recommend this adjustment level.
Currently, the Ministry of Home Affairs is proposing to increase the regional minimum wage by 7.2% from January 1, 2026, equivalent to VND250,000 - 350,000 per month depending on the region. With this increase, the minimum wage will be about 0.6% higher than the minimum living standard in 2026.
Specifically, region 1 is 5.31 million VND/month, region 2 is 4.73 million VND/month, region 3 is 4.14 million VND/month and region 4 is 3.7 million VND/month.
