"Hotels will be discounted 10-30% from now until the end of the peak season," said Lai Quoc Tinh, Chairman of the Ha Giang Tourism Association, at a Ha Giang tourism promotion event in Hanoi on October 14. Mr. Tinh said that motels and hotels in the area were not affected by storms and floods and are in the best condition to serve tourists.

Since the beginning of October, tourism and travel businesses have been on famtrips to Ha Giang for surveys. The locality has also started planting three new crops of buckwheat flowers. Tourist attractions, historical sites, and scenic spots continue to be renovated.

Currently, Ha Giang has formed three tourist spaces with its own characteristics including: Western space with Hoang Su Phi, Xin Man, Quang Binh districts with national-level terraced fields; Northern space is the Dong Van Stone Plateau UNESCO Global Geopark including Dong Van, Yen Minh, Meo Vac, Quan Ba and Vi Xuyen spiritual tourism space with sacred pagodas, where 3 national treasures are kept and cemeteries where martyrs rest.

As one of the famous tourist destinations in the Northern mountainous region, Ha Giang was heavily affected by extreme weather and storm No. 3 ( Yagi ) in August and September.

Ha Giang is experiencing its peak tourist season but has been "unprecedentedly quiet" since the Covid-19 pandemic. Many tourists have canceled tours, some restaurants have temporarily closed, and revenue has dropped. Currently, tourists to the province are mainly foreigners, while domestic tourists are still cautious.

The Ha Giang tourism industry has confirmed that there are no more restrictions on tourists coming to the province, and that all safety conditions are guaranteed. National Highway 2 has been open for two weeks, tourist boats on the Nho Que River have resumed operations, and traffic on the Ma Pi Leng Pass is no longer difficult.

"All roads have been cleared, there is no longer any risk of landslides, and all tourism conditions are guaranteed to be safe," affirmed Nguyen Hong Hai, Director of the Ha Giang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Along with ensuring safety in travel and accommodation, Ha Giang is implementing a number of stimulus measures. In addition to improving service quality, Ha Giang has added many new products and hotel discount promotions.

Ha Giang is famous for its natural and cultural destinations, attracting many domestic and foreign tourists. Visitors to the country's northernmost province can choose many different times of the year such as January to March is the season of pear, plum and peach blossoms; April-May is the season of magnolia and rhododendron flowers; June-July is for spiritual tours, revisiting old battlefields; August-September is the season of ripe rice and October-December is the season of buckwheat flowers. In addition, Ha Giang is also the destination of many festivals.

In 2023, Ha Giang welcomed more than 3 million tourists, with revenue of nearly 7,100 billion VND, directly contributing 10% to the province's GDP. However, in August and September, due to the impact of floods and storm No. 3, tourism activities were affected, with revenue of some hotels and restaurants in the province dropping by 80% compared to the same period.
