Hanoi lowers 10th grade benchmark scores of 8 public schools, including Yen Hoa High School

(Dan Tri) - Hanoi Department of Education and Training has just announced the list of schools that have lowered their admission scores for grade 10 public high schools.

Accordingly, there are 8 schools that have lowered their admission scores for public 10th grade. Yen Hoa High School is one of the top schools on this list.

The Hanoi Department of Education and Training requires high schools that lower their admission scores to publicly post the number of students they have enrolled, the number of students still lacking compared to the target, the new admission scores, and the deadline for receiving admission applications according to regulations.

Hanoi Department of Education and Training stipulates that for public high schools, when lowering the admission score, the school is allowed to accept students with second and third wishes who meet the admission requirements.

Students admitted to their second choice must have an admission score at least 1 point higher than the school's standard score; students admitted to their third choice must have an admission score at least 2 points higher than the school's standard score.

Students who are admitted to their first choice will not be considered for their second and third choices; students who are not admitted to their first choice will be considered for their second choice; students who are not admitted to their first and second choices will be considered for their third choice.

The entrance exam for grade 10 of public non-specialized high schools for the 2025-2026 school year in the city will take place on June 7-8.

The whole city has more than 103,000 candidates taking the 10th grade entrance exam to public high schools, about 4,411 exam rooms, 201 exam sites, 15,173 officials, teachers, staff, and police participating in the organization, and more than 2,000 officials and teachers participating in grading the exams.

The number of candidates in Hanoi is about 10 times the number of candidates and the average exam score in other provinces and cities.

This is the first exam organized under the 2018 general education program with the orientation of assessing learners' capacity and qualities.

With 64% of candidates selected for public high schools, the exam is highly competitive and receives great attention from society.
