Hanoi, Northwest and Viet Bac continue to rain this morning

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, from the evening of October 7 to the morning of October 8, Hanoi, the Northwest and Viet Bac regions will continue to have moderate to heavy rain with thunderstorms.

Some places may experience localized heavy rain, with rainfall exceeding 100mm in just 3 hours. Total rainfall is generally between 30-60mm, with some mountainous areas exceeding 120mm.

Other areas in the North and Thanh Hoa province also have scattered showers and thunderstorms, with rainfall ranging from 10-30mm, with some places experiencing over 60mm. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind, making it dangerous for people traveling outdoors.

Hanoi, Northwest and Viet Bac continue to rain this morning

From tomorrow afternoon (October 8), heavy rain in Hanoi , the Northwest and Viet Bac will gradually decrease, the weather will change to a state of less rain. Some areas will still have light showers in the evening, but the intensity is not significant.

The meteorological agency warned that due to heavy rainfall in the previous hours, the risk of flooding in low-lying areas, urban areas and industrial zones remains high. In addition, mountainous areas need to be especially vigilant against flash floods and landslides on steep slopes, especially in provinces such as Ha Giang, Tuyen Quang, Yen Bai and Lai Chau.

In the North and Thanh Hoa, during the night of October 7 and 8, rain continued in the northern regions, then decreased rapidly in the afternoon. On October 9, the weather turned sunny, with scattered showers at night.

The Central Highlands and the South will have scattered showers and thunderstorms in the next two days, with scattered showers in the late afternoon and evening. Some Central Highlands provinces may have localized rain, but it will not last long.

The South Central provinces are also likely to have scattered showers and thunderstorms from the evening of October 9, with sunny weather during the day. The entire region from the Central region to the South still needs to be on guard against tornadoes, lightning, and strong gusts of wind during thunderstorms.
