Hai Phong exchanges experience on free trade zones with Shenzhen

During the working visit from August 4 to 10, in recent days, the Hai Phong City delegation led by Secretary of the City Party Committee Le Tien Chau visited and worked with the Shenzhen General Chamber of Commerce; Shenzhen University; China Special Economic Zone Research Center and Shenzhen Holdings Investment Joint Stock Company.

Visiting and working with the Shenzhen General Chamber of Commerce on August 5, Hai Phong Party Secretary Le Tien Chau shared: In recent years, with advantages in geographical location and traffic infrastructure, Hai Phong has always been one of the localities in the group with the highest growth rate in the country, maintaining double-digit growth. Hai Phong is also a bright spot in attracting FDI investment and has always maintained its position in the top of the country, becoming an attractive destination for large corporations and domestic and foreign enterprises.

Regarding investment attraction, in addition to Dinh Vu - Cat Hai Economic Zone and 14 effectively operating industrial parks (IPs), Hai Phong is actively establishing 15 more IPs to be ready to attract new investors, including investors from China. "We wish to attract investors and businesses interested and with potential in fields such as electronics and high-tech products, seaport services and logistics, trade, tourism ... from China in general, from Shenzhen City in particular to survey and invest in Hai Phong. Hai Phong City commits to accompany and create the most favorable conditions for Chinese businesses and investors in the process of researching, surveying and investing in Hai Phong. Your success is the success of our city" - Mr. Le Tien Chau emphasized.

The Shenzhen Federation of Chambers of Commerce (FSC) was established in February 2012. FSC undertakes the mission of connecting East-West enterprises and nurturing global business leaders. To date, FSC has 100 member companies and the total assets of its members exceed 14 trillion yuan.

Working with Shenzhen Holdings Investment Joint Stock Company (Shenzhen Holdings has a member, Tham Viet Investment Joint Stock Company, the investor of An Duong Industrial Park, Hai Phong City), Hai Phong Economic Zone Management Board and Tham Viet Investment Joint Stock Company signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation to support the implementation of Tham Viet Company's Industrial Real Estate Investment Consulting Center in Hai Phong City.

The leaders of Hai Phong City requested Tham Viet Company to coordinate with the Hai Phong Economic Zone Management Board so that the Company's Consulting Center can operate well and successfully call for more Chinese investors to come to Hai Phong.

Hai Phong City leaders requested the Company to continue to pay attention to expanding investment projects and calling for investment attraction in Hai Phong City; support Hai Phong enterprises to access the Chinese market; seek partners, promote investment, tourism, services, and trade; Hai Phong City committed to creating the best conditions for Chinese enterprises in general and Shenzhen City in particular.

On the same day, the Hai Phong City delegation visited and worked at the China Special Economic Zone Research Center, Shenzhen University, Guangdong Province. The China Special Economic Zone Research Center is a key research institution on Science, Society and Humanities - the only academic research institution on Special Economic Zone issues.

In order to expand the economic development space and attract investment, Hai Phong City is also researching the establishment of the 20,000-hectare Southern Hai Phong Coastal Economic Zone with projects such as Tien Lang International Airport, Nam Do Son Port, Free Trade Zone, industrial parks, industrial clusters, and new urban areas.

Therefore, Hai Phong City hopes that the China Special Economic Zone Research Center will share its experiences on special economic zones, free trade zones and development models in Shenzhen. These experiences will help Hai Phong in promoting the establishment of a free trade zone in the near future...
