Corporal Vi Van Toan and Private Dao Duy Anh, students of Company 6, Battalion 2, are a pair of friends progressing together in the unit. Vi Van Toan is a selected student, his family is in a remote area, has difficult circumstances, and his learning process is sometimes not focused. Duy Anh is an exemplary student with good academic results. Knowing the abilities of the two students, the unit commander arranged for Dao Duy Anh to tutor and help Vi Van Toan in his studies.

During self-study and break time, the two students exchanged and discussed their lessons. Thanks to their efforts in reviewing, in the first semester (2024-2025 school year), both comrades were ranked as excellent students. Along with that, the pair Van Toan-Duy Anh also actively participated in the unit's movement activities, such as: "Student Dance Group", "East Gate Band", dancing, sports activities... Private Dao Duy Anh shared: "Witnessing comrade Toan studying better, I am very excited that I can help my teammates improve. Besides, I also learned a lot of experience in training and practice from comrade Toan".

Over the years, the model of "Pairs of friends progressing together" has been maintained and deployed to companies by the Party Committee and the command of Battalion 2 in the form of pairing students so that they can help each other progress in their studies. After each lesson, those who have mastered the knowledge will exchange, answer questions, and support those who do not understand. The exchange to review the lessons of the day will help supplement each other's knowledge, thereby promoting learning and creating cohesion in the unit. Colonel Vu Tri Thuy, Battalion Commander of Battalion 2, said: "Through many years of managing students, I have found the model of "Pairs of friends progressing together" to be very practical. Students of the same age can easily share and sympathize with each other, so they have a positive impact on each other's learning and training process."

Currently, the model of "Pairs of friends progressing together" is maintained regularly in the companies of Battalion 2. Through weekly and monthly meetings, the unit commander checks and evaluates the level of progress in learning of each pair of friends; promptly commends exemplary pairs of students.

With obvious effectiveness, the model “Pairs of friends progressing together” contributes to improving the quality of studying and training, strengthening team spirit and cohesion within the unit. This is also a highlight in the emulation movement to study well and practice seriously at the Political Officer School.
