Previously, Man United legends such as Gary Neville and Paul Scholes have publicly criticized Amorim's "rigidity" and lack of adaptability. Former player Nicky Butt also commented frankly: "Forget the system. The players are simply not at the level that Manchester United need. They are not aggressive enough, not quick enough, and do not have enough strength in midfield."

The victory over Chelsea helped Man United gain 7 points and temporarily rise to 10th place in the Premier League rankings.
