Just a few hours after the Football Association of Thailand (FAT) announced the termination of his contract on the afternoon of October 21, coach Masatada Ishii spoke out to express his indignation, saying that he was treated unprofessionally.
According to the Japanese coach, he was invited by FAT to attend the evaluation meeting of the two most recent matches of the Thai team at 10 am, to evaluate the two matches with Taiwan (China). However, right after the meeting, he was suddenly informed that the contract would be terminated on the same day, with the reason "FAT wants to change the personnel of the national teams at all levels".

Coach Ishii shared his anger on his personal page.
Coach Ishii said he did not sign any documents, and asked for further discussion, but just a few hours later, FAT announced the decision to fire him on official channels. "What insincere people. Thank you to everyone who has supported the Thai team so far," he wrote on social media.
Coach Ishii's statement quickly attracted the attention of Thai fans, many of whom expressed regret for the coach who was highly regarded for his discipline and working style.
Masatada Ishii's departure ends nearly two years with the Thai national team, and also extends the list of Japanese coaches leaving the hot seat in Thai football recently.
Meanwhile, FAT's two evaluation matches with Mr. Ishii both had favorable results in the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers when they won 2-0 and 6-1 against Taiwan (China).
