Coach Park Hang-seo has not led any major team after leaving the Vietnam national team. |
Coaches Park Hang-seo, Shin Tae-yong, Kiatisuk Senamuang, Sasom Pobprasert, Totchtawan Sripan and Anthony Hudson are among the six candidates. This information was confirmed by FAT Vice President Charnwit Pholchivin, marking an important turning point in the process of finding a new leader for the "War Elephants" after coach Masatada Ishii was fired on October 21.
The appearance of Coach Park Hang-seo in this list is not only surprising but also creates many heated debates on social networks. Thai fans highly appreciate his experience in the region, while Vietnamese fans are curious about the prospect of Mr. Park leading the "Golden Star Warriors"'s arch-rival.
In addition, coach Shin Tae-yong is also a strong candidate, because of his experience leading the Indonesian and Korean teams. Meanwhile, 3 domestic candidates including Kiatisuk Senamuang, Sasom Pobprasert and Totchtawan Sripan also attract attention.
Coach Kiatisuk is a Thai football legend who has achieved success with the Thai national team, but he has not left many achievements in recent years. On the contrary, Sasom Pobprasert (PT Prachuap) and Totchtawan Sripan (Bangkok United) are the current coaches who have made their mark in the Thai League.
The Anthony Hudson option is also considered by FAT. The former New Zealand national team coach has experience leading in international tournaments, and is expected to be the interim coach for the "War Elephants" in the near future. If he does well, he can be officially signed.
The FAT technical committee, comprising Charnwit Pholchivin, legend Piyapong Pue-on and Secretary General Ekapol Polnavi, will interview candidates in the coming weeks to select the most suitable person.
