(Dan Tri) - Supermodel Hoang Thuy had to stand for an hour to have more than 100 gold leaves applied to her body, before wearing an elaborate outfit on the catwalk in Shanghai.

As the vedette (closing act) in designer Thanh Huong Bui's fashion show at Shanghai Fashion Week Spring Summer 2026 on October 13, supermodel Hoang Thuy impressed with her confident demeanor.

She wore an irregularly designed dress, made of elastic zinc, decorated with hundreds of hand-cut 3D flowers. Notably, before putting on the outfit, Hoang Thuy had to stand for an hour to have more than 100 gold leaves applied to her body, creating a sparkling effect.

Photos and videos of Hoang Thuy's performance received great attention from Vietnamese audiences. Many people praised Hoang Thuy for maintaining her form, confidence, professionalism, and handling the difficult costume well.

Miss Grand Vietnam 2023 Le Hoang Phuong took on the opening role in an outfit inspired by the art of Truc Chi (using traditional manual methods to turn sheets of paper into works of art).

The design uses 3D form-building techniques, embossed flowers and hand-gilded gold, both imbued with Vietnamese soul and modern beauty.

At Shanghai Fashion Week Spring Summer 2026, designer Thanh Huong Bui introduced the Manifeste collection with more than 30 designs, emphasizing the message of bringing the beauty of Vietnamese folk culture to international friends.

The costumes apply modern sewing techniques, impressing with their elegance and artistry.

The main colors of the collection are gold, red, and black, thereby contributing to honoring the beauty of women, while sending a message of prosperity and cultural depth.

One of the notable highlights of the collection is the ao dai design on a lacquer painting background, combining the traditional ao yem and the modern ao dai collar, with the conical hat brought to the stage as a sophisticated symbol.

In addition, the collection also features designs inspired by Vietnamese bamboo, applying unique hand-spinning techniques.

The evening dress with delicate cuts and thousands of stones attracted the attention of the audience.

Asian models contributed to the collection's multi-colored look.

Sharing after the show, Thanh Huong Bui said that the collection is a declaration of the journey to discover Vietnamese beauty over time. She and her team are planning to bring this spirit to major fashion capitals around the world in the near future.
