Rasmus Hojlund was once considered a lost cause at Man Utd after the club spent £200 million to recruit a series of attacking stars such as Bryan Mbeumo, Benjamin Sesko or Matheus Cunha. The Danish striker was pushed to Napoli on loan at the end of the transfer market.

However, Hojlund has been in the spotlight after scoring twice to help Napoli to a 2-1 win over Sporting Lisbon in the Champions League last night.
According to statistics, this 22-year-old striker has scored 3 goals in all competitions for Napoli, equal to the entire attack of Man Utd this season. Of which, Mbeumo has 2 goals, Sesko has 1 goal, and Cunha and Zirkzee have not been able to "shoot".
Hojlund seems to have regained his confidence under Conte at Napoli. After the match, the striker humorously wrote on Instagram: “'Hojlund scored a brace in the Champions League from two assists from Kevin De Bruyne. This is definitely not in my plans for 2025.'
The post immediately went viral, attracting a series of comments from Man Utd fans. One account wrote: “Rasmus was never a problem. He just lacked someone to pass the ball to him.”
Another person stressed: “It's not uncommon for a striker to start scoring when his teammate actually passes the ball to him.”

Many Man Utd fans even regretted: "Congratulations to him. We used him wrongly and didn't appreciate him."
Speaking after the match, Hojlund was full of praise for De Bruyne, who provided two assists for his goals. The Danish striker said: “I am very happy to play in the Champions League with Napoli. I have always loved scoring goals in Europe.
“It’s a great experience to play alongside a player like Kevin. He’s a legend, he’s won so many titles. For me, it’s just about getting in the right position and Kevin will put the ball where I need it.”
