The contest was held in two coastal communes and wards of Vinh Long province, including 3 rounds with a combination of online and in-person competitions.
The online round took place from September 29 to October 4, attracting nearly 10,000 candidates from 19 secondary schools, with nearly 20,000 entries. Based on the results, the Organizing Committee awarded certificates to 200 students with outstanding achievements, and summoned 100 students from each cluster to participate in the live round, held on October 11 and 13 at Ba Tri Secondary School (Ba Tri commune) and Tra Vinh Province Multi-purpose Gymnasium (old).

On this occasion, the Organizing Committee also awarded Certificates of Merit to 6 schools with outstanding achievements in implementing the online competition.
In the live competition round, the Organizing Committee awarded 2 first prizes, 3 second prizes, 5 third prizes and 25 consolation prizes to students with high results.
Within the framework of the program, the Organizing Committee awarded 30 bicycles and 40 scholarships (each worth 1 million VND) to students in difficult circumstances, demonstrating the spirit and social responsibility of the Vietnam Coast Guard in caring for and supporting the young generation.


In recent years, along with the task of managing, protecting sovereignty , maintaining security and order, and safety in the sea and islands of the Fatherland, the Vietnam Coast Guard has always focused on promoting propaganda and education on the law on sea and islands with rich content, diverse forms, vividness and effectiveness.
The contest "I love my homeland's sea and islands" is one of the typical models, contributing to fostering love for the sea and islands and national pride for the young generation.
To date, the entire force has organized more than 122 competitions in coastal localities, attracting over 60,000 students to participate; awarded nearly 5,000 scholarships, more than 2,000 bicycles and sponsored 26 students with especially difficult circumstances.
The contest “I love my homeland’s sea and islands” in Vinh Long province continues to affirm the effectiveness, influence and profound educational value of sea and island propaganda work in the new situation; contributing to nurturing a young generation with knowledge, ideals, aspirations and responsibility to the Fatherland.
