At the conference, the Project Management Board presented a summary report of field activities, highlighting solutions to improve the shrimp-forest value chain to achieve ecological certification, enhance capacity for stakeholders, especially women and vulnerable groups, in adapting to climate change, improving livelihoods, and building a civilized and cultural lifestyle in local communities.

Along with that, experts, managers and businesses also discussed the orientation of mobilizing resources for sustainable development of the shrimp-forest value chain, associated with enhancing and affirming the Ca Mau ecological shrimp brand in the international market.
Mr. Chau Cong Bang, Vice President of the Vietnam Clean and Sustainable Shrimp Alliance, reported on the project summary.
Since 2023, the project has built a shrimp-forest ecological value chain with EU Organic, Naturland and Biosuisse certifications for more than 740 households in the West Sea Protection Forest Management Board. The project has also paid for the added value of ecological shrimp products to 180 households with a total area of 937.94 hectares, an amount of nearly 100 million VND, and paid for forest environmental services of more than 234.4 million VND.
Mr. Dale Brearley, Australian Government Ambassador to Vietnam, affirmed the positive value of the project.
Through the program, people are linked to the global ecological shrimp market chain, product value is increased, quality seed is supported and especially annual forest environmental service payments are paid. Along with economic efficiency, the project also supports the planting of 10 hectares of new forests, the establishment of 22 farmer groups, contributing to strengthening cooperation in agricultural production, improving access to information, environmental protection and sustainable forest management.
Mr. Chau Cong Bang awarded certificates of merit from the Provincial People's Committee Chairman to the collectives and individuals participating in the project.
In addition, 46 farmer group leaders and deputy leaders participated in training courses on management skills, community development and group linkage, contributing to forming a core team in developing a sustainable shrimp-forest model.
Notably, through the program, the project has eliminated nearly 300 unsanitary toilets and river toilets in the implementation area, contributing to raising public awareness of hygiene, health and environmental protection, towards building a green - clean - sustainable countryside.
