(HNMO) - On the competition day of May 12 at the 32nd SEA Games, the Vietnamese sports delegation continued to compete in attractive sports such as athletics, wushu, basketball, women's football, fencing, diving, taekwondo and beach volleyball... The athletes competed excellently to bring home 13 more gold medals, 10 silver medals, and 6 bronze medals.

Nguyen Thi Oanh won the 4th gold medal at SEA Games 32.

At the competition on the afternoon of May 12, the final day of athletics witnessed a spectacular breakthrough of athletes, winning 2 more gold medals. Notably, athlete Nguyen Thi Oanh continued to compete excellently, bringing home a gold medal for the Vietnamese Sports Delegation in the 10,000m event. This is her 4th gold medal at the 32nd SEA Games.

In the 10,000m final, Nguyen Thi Oanh continued to have no opponents when she finished with a time of 35 minutes and 11 seconds and won her 4th gold medal at the 32nd SEA Games. With this achievement, she became the first athlete in the history of Vietnamese athletics to win 4 individual gold medals in one SEA Games.

In this event, Pham Thi Hong Le won the Silver Medal with a time of 35 minutes and 21 seconds. Athlete Odekta Nabaiho of Indonesia received the Bronze Medal with a time of 35 minutes and 31 seconds.

Nguyen Thi Huyen won her second gold medal at the 32nd SEA Games.

In the women's 4 x 400m final, athletes Nguyen Thi Ngoc, Hoang Thi Minh Hanh, Nguyen Thi Hang and Nguyen Thi Huyen competed with Thailand, Philippines and Malaysia. As a result, the Vietnamese girls performed excellently, finishing first, far ahead of their opponents, with a time of 3 minutes 33 seconds 05, winning the Gold Medal.

In the men's high jump, Vu Duc Anh won the silver medal with a score of 2.19m. In the women's 100m final, athlete Nhi Yen also won the bronze medal.

In fencing, Vu Thanh An failed to defend his SEA Games Gold Medal. He lost to Vogarun (Thailand) in the final with a close score of 14-15. Vogarun won the Gold Medal. Last year, this Thai fencer won the Silver Medal when he lost to Vu Thanh An in the final of SEA Games 31.

Sharing after the match, Vu Thanh An said that the Thai athlete played with great determination and good form and he really appreciated that. However, Vu Thanh An and his coach were not satisfied with the referee's decisions. He thought that the referee was too harsh when he gave him 3 red cards, even though they were small mistakes. At one point, Thanh An was leading his opponent by 4 points but then had to accept defeat by a narrow margin of 14-15.

Dinh Van Bi won the wushu gold medal (men's 70kg category).

Wushu had a successful competition day with 5 gold medals won by the following martial artists: Nong Van Huu (men's stick + men's knife); Bui Truong Giang (men's 60kg); Dinh Van Bi (men's 70kg); Nguyen Thi Lan (women's 48kg); Truong Van Chuong (men's 65kg).

On the same day of competition today, Vietnamese taekwondo athletes also competed excellently, winning 2 gold medals. In the final of the men's standard team event, Pham Quoc Viet, Nguyen Thien Phung, Nguyen Trong Phuc narrowly defeated the Philippines team with a score of 7.54 compared to 7.5 points, winning the gold medal.

Female creative team content.

In the final round of the team creative content, Nguyen Ngoc Minh Hy, Nguyen Thi Mong Quynh, Hua Van Huy, Chau Tuyet Van, and Tran Dang Khoa achieved 7,040 points, but were deducted 0.20 points by the Organizing Committee because the music was 4 seconds too long.

However, due to the Philippines team competing later with an error in their test and the Thai team only getting 6.8 points, the Vietnamese team won the Gold Medal in a dramatic way.

Thus, after the first day of competition, Vietnam Taekwondo won 2 gold medals and 1 silver medal.

* In the semi-final match of women's football , the Vietnamese team met a much weaker opponent, the Cambodian women's team. The Vietnamese women's team won easily with a score of 4-0, winning the right to enter the final of women's football at the 32nd SEA Games.

Thus, on the competition day of May 12, the Vietnamese Sports Delegation won 8 more gold medals, 5 silver medals, and 4 bronze medals.

As of 9pm today, the Vietnamese sports delegation temporarily leads the whole delegation with 69 gold medals. The second place is the Thai sports delegation with 60 gold medals. The third place is the host Cambodia with 57 gold medals.
