On October 15, the press conference for the TV series “Borderline” took place in Hanoi with the participation of the crew including director Meritorious Artist Mai Hien and a large cast of artists from People's Artists to young actors.
Hong Diem plays the role of Deputy Chief Prosecutor. Up to now, audiences have been familiar with Hong Diem in films about family themes. The female artist admits that the difficulty in political films lies in the dialogue, which is often very difficult, with many technical terms that are not used in real life.
Sharing about her new role, Hong Diem revealed: “When I received the invitation, I had many concerns. Up to now, the audience has always remembered my image associated with films about family themes, facing family dramas, and struggles in love affairs. This is also the first time I have tried my hand at political films.
For this genre of film, the common difficulty for the cast is the dialogue. Like director Mai Hien shared, the dialogue of political films is very difficult, with many technical terms that we never use in real life. That is what I need to overcome.
In particular, this role - a Deputy Chief Prosecutor - is the first position in my acting career. I was worried about whether I could show the demeanor, seriousness and prestige of a leader. When reviewing the trailer and the first excerpts, I still felt unsatisfied, especially in the dialogue. My voice was still not strong enough, not authoritative enough compared to the character's position, and that is something I have to work hard to improve."
Currently, the film crew is still in the process of filming. Hong Diem said she understands that there are still many things to learn from and try harder. "Hopefully when the film is officially released, the audience will welcome and love this role as a new mark in my career journey," the actress shared.

In "The Border", Manh Truong plays the role of Ngoc Trien, Chief of Office of the People's Committee of Viet Dong province, a close confidant of Mr. Dinh Sach (People's Artist Trung Anh) since he was the vice chairman of the province. This is a clever and skillful character.
After 8 years, Manh Truong and Hong Diem reunite on screen. However, in the new project, the two only play the role of close friends.
At the press conference, Manh Truong shared: “At first, when I received the invitation to participate in the film and knew that I would be reunited with Hong Diem after 8 years, I was really excited. However, when I learned that the two sisters only played the role of best friends and not a couple or husband and wife as many people expected, my emotions also somewhat diminished.
Because we are close friends, the two characters do not have many intimate interactions, and even the number of scenes we film together is quite small. Who knows, in the future, we might even stand on opposite sides."
In response, Hong Diem revealed: “When asked if it was difficult to play the role of best friends, I think it was actually very easy. Because in real life, we are both very happy and close, so expressing our friendship on film almost happened naturally. Even if I had to play the role of lovers now, I would probably have to “struggle” more, because love requires more complex emotions.
As friends, I feel completely comfortable, I just don't know if by the end of the film, that relationship will still be strong or will have a little crack."
After “Sinh Tu”, “Lan Bien” is the next film that VFC has produced in close coordination with the Supreme People's Procuracy to bring a tight and attractive political film.
The film revolves around the theme of the line between good and evil, right and wrong. This is not only a story about criminal cases but also about belief in justice. The film touches on a topical topic, talking about big projects in a "chess game" of holding positions and power during the period of merging and streamlining the apparatus.
Director Mai Hien's work brings together a cast including People's Artist Trung Anh, People's Artist Trong Trinh, Meritorious Artist Pham Cuong, Manh Truong, Hong Diem, Bao Anh, Tien Loc, Manh Cuong, Anh Dao, Huyen Trang...
The show airs every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday at 9:00 p.m. on VTV1.
