On the morning of October 9, despite the rainy weather and big waves, the workers and laborers of Thua Thien Hue Irrigation Construction Joint Stock Company were still urgently digging sand and pumping sand from the sea into geotechnical tubes (each tube is 5.3m wide and 50m long) to reinforce the soft embankment along the coast of Thuan An ward - where serious landslides have just occurred after storm No. 10.
At the construction site, the atmosphere is urgent with two large suction vessels and two excavators working at full capacity. Mr. Le Huu Duy, Construction Commander, Thua Thien Hue Irrigation Construction Joint Stock Company, said that the length of the soft embankment construction is 450m, starting from the embankment section of the old Phu Thuan commune (now in Thuan An ward) to Thuan An beach. The unit is urgently constructing, taking advantage of the sunny weather, however, it is currently raining and the big waves are causing many difficulties for the unit. However, the unit will ensure completion according to the expected schedule of 10 days.
The soft embankment is part of the project "Emergency handling of coastal erosion damage through Thuan An ward caused by storm No. 10 and floods" deployed by the People's Committee of Hue City after declaring a natural disaster emergency in early October 2025. This is an urgent solution to protect people's lives and property before the complicated storm season in the last months of the year.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tin, a resident of Thuan An ward, expressed his joy at the city's prompt and urgent attention. However, in the long term, he hopes that the local government will soon build a solid and sturdy embankment so that people can feel secure living and doing business along the coast, because this erosion has occurred frequently and is getting worse.
According to Mr. Nguyen Van Thuan, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Thuan An Ward, landslides and erosion in the area are quite serious because of the location near Tam Giang Lagoon. After storm No. 10, the ward sent a document requesting the city to take remedial measures. Currently, there is a policy to invest in a sea embankment project in the area with a total investment of 250 billion VND and is expected to be implemented in 2026. The government and people of Thuan An expect the project to help stabilize coastal erosion.

Affected by storm No. 10, the coastline through Thuan An ward with a length of more than 300m, the section bordering Phu Thuan - Thuan An beach (old) was eroded, deeply encroached into the shore, damaging essential infrastructure works, affecting vital traffic (National Highway 49B), risking the opening of new sea gates and affecting the lives of people living along the coast.
