Taking place on October 18-19, the event marks an important step in providing convenient solutions for consumers, towards implementing a roadmap to eliminate single-use plastic bags in supermarkets and shopping malls after 2025.

Accordingly, customers coming to GO! Hue Supermarket can rent convenient recycled bags with a deposit of 10,000 VND/bag and will be 100% refunded when returning the bag at the next shopping time. Participating in the model, they can play interactive games to receive unique gifts from WWF-Vietnam and GO! Hue.

The unique point is that the rental bags are not only environmentally friendly products but also contain a profound humane story. All bags are handmade from old banners and posters and made by students of My Lam Charity School for the Disabled ( An Giang ). Thereby, giving a new life to plastic waste while contributing to creating sustainable livelihoods, empowering the disadvantaged in society.

Ms. Nguyen Thu Trang, representative of WWF-Vietnam, shared that the recycled bag rental model is a practical solution, not only helping consumers easily practice a green lifestyle but also connecting the community in a meaningful activity. The act of renting a bag in Hue today is contributing to expanding efforts to protect the environment and support the community from An Giang, extending the arms of Vietnamese people for a sustainable future. The launching event of the bag rental model at GO! Hue is a strong commitment of the parties in accompanying the Government in implementing the roadmap to reduce plastic waste, while building responsible consumption habits in the community.
