The above two projects are invested by EVNNPT, the Power Transmission Project Management Board represents the investor in managing and operating the project, and Power Transmission Company 1 takes over the operation.

Reporting at the inspection session, Mr. Le Tuan Anh - Deputy Director of the Power Transmission Project Management Board (NPTPMB) said that the project to install the third 220kV transformer at the 220kV Muong Te transformer station has the following scale: Installing 1 AT3 transformer 220/110/22kV-250MVA; installing equipment for 1 total 220kV feeder bay of the AT3 transformer; installing equipment for 5 feeders (1 total 110kV feeder bay of the AT3 transformer, 2 segment bays, 1 communication bay, 1 loop bay); equipping control, protection and measurement systems, communications and SCADA (monitoring, control and data collection system for grid operation) in accordance with the regulations of Vietnam Electricity (EVN), EVNNPT, complying with the Electrical Equipment Regulations and current regulations.

The project started on June 30, 2025, with the plan to be energized in the second quarter of 2026. However, due to the urgent nature of the project, Vietnam Electricity (EVN) requested completion in October 2025. This is a great pressure on NPTPMB, but with the close direction of EVNNPT leaders, along with the efforts and determination of the units participating in the project with the spirit of "working 3 shifts, 4 shifts, through holidays, Tet, and holidays", up to now, the project items are gradually reaching the finish line to be ready for acceptance and energization in the coming time, meeting the Group's direction.

The project of installing the third transformer at the 220kV Than Uyen transformer station has the following scale: Installing a 220kV-250MVA transformer, increasing the total capacity of the entire station to 750MVA. Installing equipment for 4 220kV feeder bays, 1 communication bay, 1 220kV bypass bay and installing additional equipment for existing bays to convert the quadrilateral diagram to a 2-busbar diagram with a loop busbar. Installing equipment for 1 110kV total feeder bay; pumping station house, traffic system, 110kV, 220kV distribution equipment, outdoor transformers, control, protection, communication equipment, SCADA, AC/DC cabinets...

According to EVN's direction at the initial meeting in July 2025, the project must be completed in December 2025. In response to this direction from the Group, EVNNPT has requested relevant departments and units to speed up the progress of project appraisal and approval; coordinate with local authorities to quickly carry out compensation and site clearance work... Therefore, up to now, the project is focusing on leveling the ground to urgently install electrical equipment.

At the site inspection, EVNNPT Deputy General Director Nguyen Ngoc Tan and EVNNPT Trade Union Vice Chairman Nguyen Huy Thang acknowledged the efforts of NPTPMB and EVNNPT's Boards and units participating in the project who were determined to complete the large amount of work assigned.

These two projects, once completed, will be of great importance in order to optimally release the hydropower capacity in Lai Chau province to the national power system; enhance the ability to connect the grid, reduce power loss, improve safety, reliability and stability in the operation of the regional and national power system; create profits for investors, create jobs for workers; contribute to increasing the state budget revenue, promote local socio -economic development. The project also contributes to limiting power loss in the transmission grid, increasing the production and business efficiency of EVN and EVNNPT.

Therefore, EVNNPT Deputy General Director requested NPTPMB and EVNNPT's professional departments to coordinate closely to speed up the progress, meet the goals and directions of the Group. During the construction process, special attention must be paid to labor safety and equipment safety.
